Fast forwarding jumps my back to adverts

Good Morning

i have an issue when I forward or rewind a programme i end up jumping back to the start adverts again no matter how short the fast forward is. I watch the adverts again and then it picks up where I want it to. 
it doesn't matter how many times I've watched the adverts I end up having to watch them again. 
very frustrating. 
Any help would be appreciated.

Sadly this seems to be quite a common problem. Fast forwarding (and rewinding) is pretty painful on Sky's streaming service. It's nowhere near as precise or reliable as a what you can do with a recording on a hard drive I'm afraid and its functionality varies between the third party apps. 

Do you have the ad skipping pack? Holding down the right hand button on the centre ring when an ad break starts usually skips through an ad break on (some) content but TBH it's not consistent. 

I've found the best way to avoid ads is to pay for Channel 4+ and ITVX Premium then you get a true ad-free experience on their content at least.

Sky's own content is a different matter. I avoid it as much as possible on Stream and have actually found watching certain content via the NOW app on my Apple TV 4K box (for which I have a seperate subscription) gives an ad-free experience, albeit without a UHD/HDR option.

Thanks for the reply. It's mainly only sky sports and f1 which I fast forward so it doesn't really justify the expense of £5 a month. I don't mind watching the adverts so long as I can fast forward between them which I can't currently do without jumping back every time.

I am having the same issues - If I miss a sentence, then rewind a few seconds to hear it again, it takes me right back to the previous adverts - this is awful!!!!

This is probably the most annoying thing I have ever come across, don't mind watching adverts, but when I fast forward a programme it jumps back too the adverts, sky you need to get a fix for this.

Ads on Sky Stream is an abomination. The latest sky go update on Apple TV removes ads if you have the ad skipping pack. Surely stream should be the superior, premium product?

if ads not removed off stream in the same way by end of cooling off period im out. It's not right that I find NowTv a more hassle free quality experience which only costs me a tenner per month for tv shows and cinema.

But can you record programmes on NowTV?   As I will be handing back my Sky Stream Puck at the end of my trial period due to the amount of Ads, I was going to go with Sky Q, so I could record, but now I am considering Now TV??

I'm also having the exact same issue right now. Sky when can you imrpove this user experience? It's very frustrating and makes using the service not worth it

@Katec88 where are you watching the show from. It is from one of the on-demand apps e.g ITV X, Channel 4, is it the watch from start functionality of a live show or it is a "cloud recorded" show?

I'm watching the F1 qualifying as part of my sky sports subscription. It'S part of my "live formula 1 playlist" but it's a replay, not currently live

Ah oh so that will be a cloud recording version then.

Don't know if you have tried to old turn it off at the plug, wait 30 seconds, turn it back on again from the plug and see if that resolves the issue. It does sound like a computer based glitch that a reboot would normally solve.

I too have this, it's the second most annoying thing about the sky stream, after the horrible rubbery remote.

I've just rewound about 30 seconds of a program, and then I have to watch (at least) 5 minutes of adverts.

I've got the exact same issue and it makes me wanna cancel my subsc. How can a provider like Sky not even perform a simple action like rewind/fastforward without bugging?

Exactly the same issue. This has been going on for months. I've just watched 15mins of ads back to back. Sort it out Sky.

Currently trying to watch F1 on replay and each time I touch the forward button it plays ads. When I stop forwarding it plays an ads. 

I gave up on watching the qualifying as to get to the start of the driving (and skip the hour of talking) would have required watching 20 mins un-skippable ads. 

Considering I'm already paying nearly £30 a month (since sky just did another 10% mid contract price increase) forcing ads down my throat (or pay more money) is obscene. 

I think once my contract is up I'm cancelling for good. Sky can't help themselves when it comes to robbing people of every penny they can get away with.
