I don't understand how people are here defending this stuff. Sky as the only official uk live broadcaster should be providing a service fit for the licence and price we pay.
they don't
sorry but the fact you could 'add it wrong' should not be possible , having to understand the differences between similarly named shows and different channels that you would probably only know about where you to come here is ridiculous.
getting the correct same named show that has all the content up fairly quickly is no defence . How are we supposed to know this? I wasn't aware until I came on here. Fumbled for 20mins trying to find out how it finished. Gave up and hit Reddit for the answers., even so it shouldn't bail you out if you are running 30mins behind time because the live broadcast overran . It's F1 . It often overruns. Sky been doing this long enough to know that.
the Live F1 page is a mess. All the sessions with the exact same icon make it really hard to try and find what you want.
no HDR if not Live
Stereo sound only if not live
who provides Sky their licence to broadcast?

It's not 2h 9m
Don't go by what running time says on listing in playlist
Playlist
Live:Formula 1
S2023:E20
Live F1 Grand Prix Race
Recorded at 5.55AM on Sunday April 2
When you start playback from playlist
Actual recorded playback time is 3 hours 13 min
Photo below is from playback
Playlist
Live:Formula 1
The recording
Playback
It's UHD HDR on both my Sky Glass and Sky Pucks
When adding to playlist in regards to Live broadcasts
Add to playlist from TV Guide before a live broadcast has started using Sky F1 Channel 406
Once you added to playlist from TV Guide it will record all future live race broadcasts
You will have a tile in playlist listed as Live:Formula 1
It's important you added to playlist from TV Guide Channel 406 before Live broadcast has started.
When adding to playlist from TV Guide look for Live in the broadcast description so you get recording of live race

Considering there's a 4 week break coming up, lets have a look at how well Sky Stream/Glass has made Formula 1 and Formula 2 available on the Live entries during the first part of the season.
I'm only considering "Live: Formula 1" and "Live: FIA Formula 2 Championship" entries, and given the time zone differences Australia should have been the easiest weekend to deal with as they had a few hours to get the shows available before I'd wake up an notice any issues problem. In this case I have reason to suspect the Formula 2 worked as expected as they all showed "Recorded at" - when they are late that hasn't happened, and I've not seen any reports from HD only customers of any issues here.
In short, F1 has been successful (for HD viewers at least) in Bahrain, Saudi, and for Saturday and Sunday in Australia.
F2 was always late in Bahrain, got a single session on time in Saudi and nothing for the rest of the weekend, and worked as expected in Australia.
Note,
I've only checked and considered the "episodes" which contain on-track action - If I can't watch live they are all I'm interested in.
I'm not considering "Watch From Start" behaviour as this seems to have been buggy, however I am assuming that a "episode" which has finished but is still recording is good as you can start watching it.
The "nothing" on Formula 2 did appear (eventually) under the other Formula 2 entry. Qualifying also appeared before vanishing overnight.
Where a session has overran, I've also checked that the end of the on-track action has been recorded - not seen any of that missing yet.
Can we get a full house in Azerbijan?

Very well put together I honestly don't think HD or 4K should be making a difference with being able to view the content.
There is improvements for certain still need to be ironed out. Will see how it goes for the next race.

I appear to have woken up to the F1-live being available as 'recorded' from sky showcase HD. However I have a UHD sub so wanted to watch via that. Initially I assumed it had recorded it incorrectly but I think what happened is it just wasn't ready on time.
Later in the morning on the Sunday I noticed the recording under the same location had changed to the UHD version recorded from sky sports Main event UHD.
So it may have been a later finish on the UHD version due to the race running long and it gave the showcase version as it was available sooner, or possibly the UHD version taking longer to save out as a VOD and become available?
Do we know if the sky showcase HD channel was a 3hr running time (which the main event UHD was)?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI watched in HD on Main Event catchup and the programme was 3 hours 15 minutes.
TBH so far this season I have absolutely no complaints with the F1 schedule and programming.

do you recall when the episode was available? Apparantly the main event UHD was up at 9.33 (if I'd just waited a few minutes instead of tuning in live to the 'replay' that wasn't..)
The showcase was up earlier than that around 8:30am so I decided to wait for the race replay an hour later..

I have Dolby Atmos UHD Pack
With my Sky Glass and Sky Stream Pucks
Playlist on my Sky Glass and Sky Stream Pucks
Live: Formula 1
Practice 1 to Chequered Flag all recordings was available for playback straight way after race ended
We could do playback even while live broadcasts was still recording
In regards to Formula 1 Grand Prix Bahrain/Saudi Arabia/Australia.
We had no delay for playback in regards to UHD recordings
The running times listed as recorded I ignore most times as that not always accurate
I always only go by what the run time is listed when I start actual playback of a recording
Example Grand Prix Race list as 2h 5 m recorded 2 April, 5.55 am
Actual playback when started the run time was 3h 13 m and not 2h 5m
F1 UHD live broadcasts recordings
FP1 and FP2 there was no delay in recordings been made available as they was available straight away

Good to hear that you have a problem free F1 recording this weekend I didn't check myself for the GP as I watched it live.
04 Apr 2023 08:24 PM
I started watching after 10 am. I have the Live F1 in my playlist and the playback stopped at the 2h 9m point.
Part of the issue is different users getting different results doing the same thing. Similar stuff happens with other live sports. Sometimes just a simple off and on via the remote brings a program that was missing onto the list. It is crazy.

My playlists have been wiped. Came home at 5pm yesterday to watch the Baku race and nothing in F1 or Live F1 playlists. Shambles.

Live:Formula 1
All are still there in my playlist
Did you or someone else in your home click remove from playlist by mistake or not add to playlist correctly.
You add to playlist from TV Guide Channel 406 as in before a live race broadcast has started.
01 May 2023 05:34 PM
Which playlist are you using
Live: Formula 1 this is for recording of live race broadcasts
Or are you using on demand
Formula 1
If you using on demand as in not live race broadcasts

Click other for the on demand recordings
You also needed to add to playlist from TV Guide for recording of repeat broadcasts
