EPG (tv guide) is not filling in, even for Sky channels.

I seem to have developed an issue affecting both the tv and puck.

On both systems, the EPG is only filling in the next couple of days, beyond that it's very hit and miss.

Even Sky's own channels aren't showing.

is this general or am on my own with this? And, is there a fix?

65" Sky Glass green, 1 x puck with LG 49" smart tv, Sky Superfast BB.

Seems to happen on mine too. I rarely use my puck but I turn it on every few days and have a look to see if there's anything worth watching coming up. The EPG usually has some holes in it in the days ahead so it's pretty useless.

Yes this is normal, a reboot sometimes helps fill some blanks.

Hi @Cleveleysbob

If after a switch off at the socket, wait a min then back on doesn't solve, you can email viewerR@sky.uk with the details who will be able to assist.

Thanks,

Tim

I don't bother rebooting - I just turn it off again and use my other devices instead.

Re: EPG (tv guide) is not filling in, even for Sky channels.

Right, since my 1st note on this, I've unplugged system for several minutes then rebooted, up dated all Apps. Still nothing much beyond Wednesday - 2 days advance only!

I've been on SkyGo and the full 7 day guide is fine on there, so it's obviously a Glass/Streaming related glitch. I've emailed Sky, but could have to wait a few days for an answer.

This is poor. The whole "Playlist" concept is based on being able to "add to playlist" future programmes so that you don't miss them. I'm an old geezer who can't entirely rely on his memory, so this feature is pretty important. Sky should be doing better.

@Cleveleysbob

I raised this months ago when I first had Sky and was told it is the providers not providing broadcast content, this I knew to be nonsense as the information was readily available elsewhere.

You are right stream is driven by playlists and therefore requires up to date information. I ended up referring to TV guides which was crazy.

  • This was just one of many issues that made me ditch stream until such time it is reliable.

Along with all the other issues with Sky at the moment, this is another issue which will take months to sort out..

Sky going from bad to worse.

@Anonymous ,

that excuse just wouldn't wash as the full guide is available on other Sky platforms like Sky go.

they better not try to come back with that.

it's clear that some other providers don't keep their own streaming platforms up to date which impacts on the playlist at times, but there is no excuse for the EPG.

Same here, so many holes in the guide after Wednesday, tried all the usual fixes mentioned but no luck.

Not sure how Sky have the cheek to charge such a premium price for a service less reliable than a dodgy Firestick 😅

Re: EPG (tv guide) is not filling in, even for Sky channels.

@KevNewMedia still happening to me on Sky Glass.  If i go more than 2 or 3 days ahead there are loads of gaps. I have tried rebooting the tv but it does nothing.

i have called Sky before but they just said oh we just thought this was just an issue on Sky Stream we will look in to it someone will call if its not fixed but they never did.

As others have said it is so annoying when you want to add programmes to your playlist, you cannot do it where there are gaps.

Re: EPG (tv guide) is not filling in, even for Sky channels.

Yes, the same issue for me as well. The TV guide fails to load for some channels a couple of days in advance.. This impacts the playlist functionality which my wife was just starting to master with all of its foibles. This combined withe the other unresolved ongoing issues is very poor  from Sky.

I have apple TV and BT TV and they have no issues with the TV guide.  Contract renewal time (or not) - becoming harder to justify.
