I am still being asked for my PIN to view certain shows, despite turning off the parental controls.

In particular, Sky Atlantic (and to a lesser extent Sky Documentaries and Sky Comedy) will require PIN entry during the day as they carry a considerable amount of 'post-watershed' content before 21:00
The schedule for 09:00 to 21:00 on Atlantic today (16/02/24) is
The Sopranos, The Sopranos, The Wire, The Wire, Game of Thrones, Gomorrah, Gomorrah, The Sopranos, The Sopranos, The Wire, The Wire, Game of Thrones
and those are all required to be behind Mandatory Daytime Protection or they could not be broadcast pre-watershed without attracting a very significant fine from Ofcom for breach of the Broadcasting Code on language, violence and sex.
Several Sky Cinema channels have always done the same: it's for them that MDP was created.
