Cost of Sky Ultimate After Changing from Sky Stream to Sky Glass
I'm Confused.
I have had Sky Stream for over 2 years and when I looked at my monthly bill online I assumed the £33.60 Ultimate TV item included the Sky Stream subscription. Now the new Sky Glass tv has arrived I phoned Sky to 'cancel' the Sky Stream because we wouldn't be using it anymore after the problems we had been having with the puck. The Indian man I talked to went through my upcoming bills and because I was now out of contract they were going up and up until September's bill would be an eye watering £90.00 +. Compared to the £39.60 I was paying for Sky Stream.
Looking at the items on the next biil Sky had added various items that I had not asked for - Sky Kids, Ultra HD and Whole Home, the costs of which would come into effect within a couple of months. Cutting a much longer story short, he deleted these unwanted items from my account and got me a rather lower monthly payment contract over 2 years. Which amounts to the monthly cost of the Sky Glass tv, Sky Ultimate and Ad Skipping.
I had assumed that by cancelling Sky Stream that the Sky Ultimate cost would have gone down, but it hasn't. Should it have done? Help? Thanks.

@Snookiecrome I don't know why you would assume that given the much publicised increase in prices from April. Glass and Stream are essentially the same platform - it's just one has a TV and Atmos Speakers!

Re: Cost of Sky Ultimate After Changing from Sky Stream to Sky Glass
Sky billing is an enigma and lottery, any changes you make need to be clarified in advance before agreeing to them as Sky will take every opportunity open to them to increase your monthly costs. Often Sky will entice with just £16 a month offers for basic subscription but actually once you add fairly basic requirements like UHD, wholehome etc it's soon adds up.
Always check and double check before signing up to anything.
as with most of my posts with a negative slant at Sky this one will probably be deleted too 🙄

This message was authored by:Gavin+Noble Sorry for my ignorance. I know all about price increases. But had thought that the subscription included the price of the puck, which apparently is now mine, so I'm no longer paying for it.

@Gincap Thanks for that. Doing my maths it looks like the amount I will be paying is right. You think you're being negative? The comments on the Sky Facebook page can be very scathing!

No: the Stream puck was either yours as a one-off purchase* (if acquired before 23rd February 2023) or on 'free' loan to facilitate content consumption.
The Ultimate TV monthly subscription itself doesn't have a hardware purchase or rental component: it covers the channel bundle, Netflix Standard with Adverts and Discovery+ Basic.
For Sky Glass the cost is Ultimate TV (or Essential TV) plus the monthly loan repayment until that's paid off, unless the set is bought for cash at the start.
*sometimes discounted to £0 for the first puck
