I can't see why in any way, shape or form it would be tricky to implement. It should be a simple bit of coding in the Entertainment OS. A long press of the select button, followed by a remove option. Easy.
Or, if that's too difficult, a new 'Manage Continue Watching' option to allow the removal of a programme or to mark a specific episode as watched. It's not rocket science.
I've actually given up using it on my puck, in fact I've given up using my puck much at all, as we've found the whole user interface on the Apple TV 4K box to be a much more intuitive, reliable and pleasureable experience. The Up Next rail on it works brilliantly and is so easy to use. It keeps track of everything we watch on iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4, NOW, Apple TV+, Prime Vide, and Disney+ without fault. It would be perfect if it could track Netflix too but that's something Netflix don't let Apple near, so we have to just open the Netflix app to continue shows on there, but not much of a problem.
Sorry Sky, your Entertainment OS is more of a Frustration OS. We'll be getting rid of Stream soon as it's just not worth the expense, frustration or hassle any more.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Padam_Padam I also have an Apple TV and use it far more than I used to do especially since I bought the TV Launcher App. Although I have not done it yet I have been tempted to try NOW TV to see if it provides the programmes and viewing experience I want. I have seen many posts on the forum where Sky subscribers have moved to 🍏
I don't know much about coding (or rocket science for that matter 🤣) so I can't really comment on how difficult it is or isn't to achieve. All I do know the CW rail drives me mad on a daily basis. I imagine if it was easy and straightforward Sky would have found a solution.

I tried to delete 'continue watching' on All4, but it didn't work. Can't seem to get rid of things. Also the SKY way doesn't work either. Now I have a load of stuff I don't want and then it bumps one of my items off that I do watch .

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Curiosity2 The continue watching rail is my nemesis as it is so frustrating. If you haven't managed to remove the Ch4 programmes then try running them through to the end to see if that helps. Generally running Sky programmes to the end get rid of them but if you don't do the same for the last programme in the series it will load the next episode. Maybe you need to try a little trial and error.
With regards to your programme that dropped off the rail if you find it in your playlist (or a search on Sky) just select it and play a few seconds and it will the appear at the beginning of the CW rail again.

@Fothergill1 Thank you, I will try these different suggestions and see how I get on.

Undoubtedly the most frustrating feature. Every day I pray they have added a delete button on the CW rail. I don't care about them adding anything else to do with Dolby sound or tiny graphics differences you barely notice......please add delete to CW. Simple. It's just added This Morning to mine for absolutely no reason and that's on every bloody weekday 😭

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@DJS19801995Don't hold your breath. I have been hoping (and asking) for this to be included for nearly two years. I find it is the single most frustrating part of the Streaming experience.
Another issue with the CW rail which only seems to effect a few people is for programmes that have been fully watched sometimes weeks ago suddenly reappearing. My rail currently has five such programmes showing it in. Are you still having this issue @Deedee36?
With regards to "This Morning" I had exactly the same thing happen a couple of months ago. I think I asked it to "watch from start" which was my mistake. The only way I was able to get rid of it was to just leave it on the rail until it got to the far right and then dropped off. This took a few weeks 🤬

@Deedee36 I'm envious. Did you do anything special or did the issue resolve itself. I've had the various updates and it is still happening.

I have noticed things dropping off which I find weird. I don't mind if it's things i'm not watching but it seems to keep those 😟. I am also watching old episodes of Dr Who on bbc 1 and it keeps switching the CW to itv for some reason which you can only watch if you pay for itv premium, again odd and frustrating 😬

If you add the continue watching programme to the play list then you can remove it on manage play list .
