Considering getting Sky Glass gen 2 with SKY VIP OFFER
Im a sky VIP platinum customer of 22 years. I'm considering the current offer available to me free delivery free installation etc. I'm a little confused with the TV packages it comes with I would like everything the same etc I currently have SKYQ also 2 multi room boxes & the tv package is ultimate sky signature, uhd sky sports and sky cinema we have everything apart from TNT and Sky kids. We are currently paying £180-£190 per month including broadband ultra 500. I would like the 65" TV and 2 x puks with all the above channels and apps inc paramount+ nexflix my5 etc etc. Is the whole home TV package on glass the same package I already have? As it basically works out cheaper for me taking the Glass TV so I just want to make sure it still includes everything I already have? Please help I would just like to speak to a human on the phone to verify everything b4 I go ahead???

Re: Considering getting Sky Glass gen 2 with SKY VIP OFFER
Worthwhile taking a look at this page in case there are any channels you like which aren't available on Sky Glass:
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/tv-channel-list-sky-glass
Some Sky sales people will tell you that everything you can get on Q is available on Glass. It isn't.
Check the channel lists carefully.
If you don't like the sound of it you should negotiate a new Sky Q contract. £180-190pm sounds like an awful lot of money, even including broadband. If you're out of contract then it would be worthwhile negotiating a new deal, particularly if your current TV is working fine.

The most significant difference is the absence of Talking Pictures plus most of the International, Religious and Shopping channels, together with the lack of local recordings.

Re: Considering getting Sky Glass gen 2 with SKY VIP OFFER
Delivery and installation is already free - this 'VIP' thing is just clever marketing - giving the impression of valued customer deals, that really aren't. If you've got Q, stick with it and recontract at a much lower rate than you're currently paying. You'll only be disappointed with Glass, coming straight from Q - it's an entirely different beast.

Got to say though, as an early adopter of the Gen Two I'm a little annoyed at this given I had to pay for premium delivery. I could have avoided that charge it seems. Ah well.

Re: Considering getting Sky Glass gen 2 with SKY VIP OFFER
@82bit If you're a Sky VIP then now you get premium delivery for free. Before that offer was introduced if you bought a Gen Two set, then you would get basic delivery (doorstep drop off only) and an email from the delivery company that enabled you to upgrade to premium delivery (assembly, recycling and packaging disposal). I know because that's how it happened for me.

Re: Considering getting Sky Glass gen 2 with SKY VIP OFFER
Is this the same 'premium delivery' that ends up with the installers putting the Glass TV the wrong way round on its stand and getting it stuck?? No wonder they give it for free if that's the level of service one should expect! 😂

Re: Considering getting Sky Glass gen 2 with SKY VIP OFFER
- Lol, yeah not much of an offer is it, delivery is always free and settling up is a piece of cake anyway. I'm sure they won't hang it on the wall for you and fit the wall bracket etc. They just probably put it on the stand it comes with and press play🤣. Being platinum or diamond at least give a tidy discount from the price. Whatever happened to trade in deals they talked about at the gen 1 launch. Bit of a joke this offer really.

Re: Considering getting Sky Glass gen 2 with SKY VIP OFFER
@howdy12 If you live on your own it's certainly a good offer due to the size and weight of the TV if you've ordered the 55" or 63" TV.
