Dear all
I am a new customer to Sky. I ordered Sky Broadband, which came to me in good condition.
But sky also sent me Sky Stream box, which I didn't order.
In my telephone conversation with Sky, I already insisted that I don't want Sky TV as I don't have TV.
But they still insisted to send it to me.
It now says that if I don't activate it in 2 weeks, I will be charged automatically.
Now I am not even sure how to return it.
I also can't activate it because I don't have TV.
I think this is pure cheap trick to extract money from customer.
Not only now I spend time to find out how to send the box back, I also have to spend money to return the box.
If anybody from Sky can clarify this issue, it will be appreciated.
An apology from them will be appropriate too, as they literally force their sky TV on me.

@ntynvt You have a 31 day cooling off period so call Sky and explain that you want to cancel the Stream account which you never wanted anyway.
If you have a look at the following link it explains the returns process and there is even a link to printing off a returns label (but don't return it without speaking to Sky first). When you return it make sure you obtain proof of posting and keep it safe.

Re: Complaint about Sky TV
@ntynvt my hunch is that when you signed up to the boradband you must have accidentally signed up to one of the bundle deals that they were doing with Sky Stream as well.
You have 31 days to cancel under the cooling off period so i'd suggest to read this page to understand the cancellation process: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-tv

Difficult to understand how that's possible: when ordering online there would be several extra steps involved, while by phone it would be a considerably extended conversation discussing television add-ons.
How did you place your broadband order?

Re: Complaint about Sky TV
Thank you for the reply! It is greatly appreciated.
I believe I actually just ordered the broadband.
I wouldn't have order Sky TV as I don't have one, and I don't think I will own one in the near future.
It is they who called me and said that they are sending me the Sky TV box.
And I can return it if I don't like it, just write the reason why I don't like it.
My mistake is that I assume they would give me the return instruction in the box.
And now I don't know how to return it.

Re: Complaint about Sky TV
It would probably be worth your while submitting a formal complaint through one of the methods listed on this page:
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/how-to-make-a-complaint
It sounds like you have fallen victim to some rather dubious sales tactics, often used by various large companies, particularly when cold calling potential customers.

Re: Complaint about Sky TV
Thank you everyone for the answer!
I have arranged the return of the box back to Sky.
It is much easier than I thought.
At first I thought Sky was being un-business like and for a while I regretted using Sky.
Now that I know the return process, it is not that bad.
Having said that, I still find it annoying that they literally forced the TV box to me.
Once again, thank you everyone!

Re: Complaint about Sky TV
@ntynvt Make sure if you have yet to fully complete the return process that you obtained and keep very safe and indefinitely proof of postage, just in case sky in error apply non return fees
