Firstly, can it be confirmed that Sky Glass will NOT support Google Chromecast, as I have found out through Google? I've tried a cheap Chinese Chromecast copy and Glass HDMI will not recognise it. Has anyone used a genuine Google Chromecast dongle and found it to work? Secondly, has anyone found a casting device that DOES work and is fairly easy to use? I tried an Anycast dongle that worked sporadically, but the interface on the TV was ridiculously complicated and confusing, making it (for me, anyway!) impossible to use.

If that helps you in some way.

Thanks lettice, I've enabled Airplay to cast from my iPhone but have lots of videos and music on my PC that I would like to cast. Of course, if Sky had built some kind of DLNA capability into Glass in the first place, I wouldn't have this problem.

Blimey, it looks from the picture that Chromecast should work, but that's not what I saw when I tried to connect!

SKY1992bf, I have been able to cast using an Anycast dongle, but it was too finicky and unstable.

Chromecast works fine for me attached to sky glass, I regularly cast to it from my android phone. It is an old original Chromecast though if that makes a difference

I've taken a leap of faith and ordered an HDMI transmitter and receiver kit from eBay (£31.49 inc. postage). I haven't seen any reviews of it concerning Sky Glass however. It looks ideal but the proof of the pudding etc. I'll post here when I have it to let people know if it works, in case anyone is interested.

Bingo! The HDMI transmitter/receiver set up works perfectly. Just connected the transmitter to my PC and the receiver to my Sky Glass, went to HDMI 3 on the apps and inputs banner and there it was. It even paired up automatically, even though the instructions said that I would need to push a paper clip (provided!) into a small hole on the receiver. So, as I have a remote desktop app on my tablet and wake-on-LAN, I can now access the thousands of videos and songs on my PC without even getting off the sofa. £31 well spent I reckon.

I've been successfully using a genuine Chromecast gen 2 without any trouble. You sometimes have to manually switch device, as the auto switch function seems a little sporadic, but the connection is just as good as any other TV.
I'm a little disappointed that sky decided to natively support Apple Airplay, but not Chromecast, especially as android devices are more common in the UK.

which one did you buy please as I am looking for this?

As I said, it's the Chromecast gen 2 puck. I doubt you'll get a new one now though, as it's about 5 years old and has been replaced with at least 1 more advanced model since. You might get one from eBay second hand though?
