I have just subscribed to Sky Stream and have been made to have Ad Skipping. I know I can cancel it. However, everything I have read suggests if I cancel Ad Skipping I cannot even fast forward through adverts. A friend tells me this isn't so but I'm not so sure. I don't want to be forced to sit through all the ads, I'm used to fast forwarding through them when I had Sky Q until last week. £5 a month seems a lot to pay to just fast forward through some ads you're really not interested in.

No Ad Skipping add-on, no skipping/fast forwarding through adverts.
True, Sky Q allows you to do this. Sky Q charges for HD whereas Stream does not, so it's swings and roundabouts cost wise.

You can also fast forward adverts in the ITVX, STV Player and All4 TV apps.
The Ad Skipping pack doesn't mean that you won't see any adverts. It just lets you fast forward through the ads using the relevant remote control buttons and on screen menu for what you're watching. It doesn't fast forward ads in:
Ad Skipping has a 31-day rolling contract.
Without the ad skipping add-on you can't do any of the above

A lots of channels and apps are missing on EETV when compared to Sky and Virgin. Plus you cannot fast forward on ITV recordings even if you have a ITVX premium subscription thanks to a deal with ITV and YouView.
After six months or so I used a loophole to cancel my TV subscription and come back to Sky.
