I'm thinking about upgrading my broadband package to get a Sky Glass. The product description says it has Dolby Atmos but when I've gone through the process to add on sky entertainment and sports etc, there is an option to pay for UHD and dolby atmos. Is dolby not included as standard? Would have thought a TV with dolby advertised as built in wouldn't be something you pay extra for?

Glass supports Atmos and the content is available if you have the appropriate subscription on Netflix and Disney etc. However in order to get it on Sky content you need this add-on.
Sky say:
"Sky Glass comes ready with Ultra HD 4K, High Dynamic Range and Dolby Atmos® technology built in. The Sky Ultra HD and Dolby Atmos® pack* unleashes that incredible sound and vision experience across Sky channels, including Sky Entertainment, Movies and Sports.
Monthly subscription charge applies. Sky Ultra HD and Dolby Atmos® pack unlocks Dolby Atmos® sound for selected Sky content. Minimum download speed for UHD is 30Mbps"

The Sky Glass TV is capable of decoding Dolby Atmos audio and outputting it through the built-in sound bar and upward firing speakers to give a psuedo surround effect. Dolby Atmos soundtracks are included on some Sky UHD content such as certain live sporting events, and drama series such as Day of the Jackal, but in order to receive the Atmos audio on Sky content you need to pay for the UHD & Atmos pack as part of your streaming TV subscription.
You can have a Glass TV decode a Dolby Atmos sountrack from a connected device via HDMI such as a BluRay player and output the audio via the built-in soundbar without needing to pay for the UHD/Atmos pack. It is only required for Sky channel content.
My advice would be to not bother paying for UHD/Atmos initially, try the TV out and see if you like the picture and sound quality it offers without it. It is often the case that Sky will offer you a free trial of UHD/Atmos once you start their streaming service. You can then compare the difference and see if you think it's worthwhile paying the extra and continuing the subscription.
