Hello... I have a sky glass tv. I would like to connect a recording device as I don't find the playlist button option particularly useful. I tried to connect my ancient recording box but it didn't seem to work. Wondering if anyone knows if an up to date box would work. Thanks

You cannot connect a recording device to Sky Glass. It's a streaming TV. It streams content. You cannot legally or easily record those streams.
If you don't like the playlist then you can switch to Sky Q which is a traditional hard drive based recording service. It requires a satellite dish.
