Blank Screen, will not switch on

Hi

I have been in contact with technical support and gone all through trying to force and update so please dont suggest doing that....... I went to switch my Sky Glass TV on and there is no picture, red solid light with goes off when presing the remote home button.

tech support informed me that an update had dont this to other Glass TV's and I will have to wait for them to fix the probelemativ software update (unknown timeframe).

As this leaves me without a TV until its fixed and I am not responsible for breaking it - its fair to say I am very unhappy !

Does anyone have any potential solutions as right now I have a 2 year old 65" brick and no fix from SKy.

If you have a tablet, laptop or mobile then you can watch via Sky Go. This will give you access to watch what you subscribe to @UKSapper

@UKSapper If Sky couldn't give you a fix then it's doubtful we can do any better. I would only suggest completely unplugging the TV and router for a few minutes, then plug them back in and see if a new power cycle will help. 

 

Keep a note of when you rang Sky and how many days you can't use your TV if it doesn't come back on and claim the TV subscription money back and any call costs from them when resolved.

I guess your  tv is out of warranty as it is 2 years old, do you have it on sky protect insurance  ?

No - this is looking more like a cancel and buy a "normal" TV if Sky can push out a faulty update any time they feel like it.

I wasnt getting the feeling that tech support were talking about a short time frame for any potential fix so I will either be without TV for the foreseeable future or have to buy a replacement and not have Sky Glass

I have 2 55inch sky glass tvs, gen 1 over 3 years old and a gen 2 plus a puck and they are all working  OK so I  do feel  sorry  for you  sounds like the tv has gone if it was still  in warranty  then you  could  have  got a replacement
