The channel 4 app seems broken. Every time I go to watch a programme 9 times out of 10 it goes to a black screen then nothing. It worked consistently a few days ago but now nothing. Every other app works fine and I have tried the usual stuff of turn it off for 10 mins, restart puck and router and refresh the apps but nothing works. Just thought I would ask if anyone else had this and found away around it before I go down the predictable route of ringing sky and being told it's channel 4 then channel 4 telling me it's sky!!! Same old same old....

In order for the community to assist you will need to describe what the issue is. Plus information such as who your ISP is and what connection speed you get might also be useful together with any steps you have already tried.
Remember we are fellow subscribers on the community not Sky and have no idea about your set up unless you tell us!

I have been having issues for over a week now
Mostly around 7pm
You have to continually having to reboot and still nothing it's extremely frustrating
Tonight l had to reboot three times and then you couldn't fast forward & you couldn't use volume button.

We are still having problems with our Channel 4 ap. I have uploaded the video as a pm to Chloe. Sorry I get the date wrong on the video, it was taken on 7th Feb 2025, at 1.13pm.
Our download speed is currently 41.68mbps, broadband provided by BT.
This problem has been going on for 6 months or so now and while we can get access to the channel 4 ap on other devices, its a real pain that we have paid for no adverts with Sky but now have to endure them on anything we want to see on Channel 4.
I would really appreciate some help with this. If that means doing a factory reset I am quite willing to but wont do so without Skys help as I have heard it can mess up other things.

I spoke again to sky about this channel 4 and finally a reasonable answer. They have a Team working on the problem. It is as we all know not yet resolved!!

We've been having this issue with the channel 4 for months, it is going round in circles as I write. I've tried resetting, pulling the plug as suggested in other posts. The Tv was switched off at the plug for 2 months while we were away. So if that didn't fix it unplugging for 5 minutes wont. We can watch channel 4 live but if we want to watch old episodes we can't.

We have been investigating reports of the All4 app not loading upon launch since August. However, the issues we've examined since the Glass update at the end of 2024 do not indicate there is a widespread problem affecting the app but are isolated to individual customers.
If you are having an issue with the app I can recommend resetting the All4 app through
Settings > System Information > Reset Application Data/Sign out
Failing this, I recommend starting a new thread where our users can support with troubleshooting individual reports.
