My wife watches a lot of "lifestyle" programmes on various platforms within Discovery+
Non of them are premium content just bog standard shows.
However, almost every day, she is either faced with the "cookies choices" selection page or the "activate your account" page, despite us being activated directly on line and via Sky.
I don't know whose responsible between Discovery and Sky, but it's unreasonable to be faced with either of these choices day after day, just to watch a show or 2.
Is anyone else facing similar issues? Personally I'd dump the whole bloody thing, but I'm constantly reminded by the Mrs that she "never had any problems on SkyQ".
I'd like this perpetual signing in rubbish to stop. We should be able to turn on tv, go to app, start watching, it's not too much to ask.
Help.
65" Sky Glass TV, with Sky Superfast BB, 1 x puck in use on LG 55" smart tv..

personally, I think that's shabby. It's not like this has had any harsh treatment, it's basically not moved for 18 months from installation and the fault is clearly none of our doing, but they want either £40 for a sky owned additional puck or £50 to replace the faulty one.
I'm not playing their game. I'll consider paying £3.99/mo for a basic subscription to Discovery via Prime than pay SKY even more.
Hang on, do you have any problems with other apps, watching tv etc? Did they get you to do a full factory reset? Did they get you to confirm your firmware? Should be something like QS023.010.00P.

Just realised, most of the Channels are now on Glass TV guide, so hopefully this will solve all the signing in issues. 😂👍

OK the tv guide isn't the answer as once you've become accustomed to streaming what you want, where and when, going back to live programming isn't really the answer.
Again, today, clicked on Dicovery + app. Immediately hit with "cookie choice" page, wade through that and the "sign in" page comes up which is a total pain in the butt, because you've got to use 2 bits of hardware, open the website on one, follow the instructions, which eventually let's you in, but only if your lucky, because sometimes it then asks you to sign back into SKY.
I'm bloody fuming! What on earth is going on? This is a shambles!
please flag this up to SKY it needs sorting out.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHave you activated Discovery+ through Sky. It should appear in your Market Place as being activated. If you go to tv bills in the MySky app you should see it there. Picture may not appear immediately.

Thanks, I checked that and it's an active and up to date subscription.

Hi, I've just tried my Sky glass tv and it works - straight in no problems.
However, I popped into the other room and tried using the puck, and again it asked me to choose my cookie preferences, then it came on and said, "you've got an active account, please sign in via Sky"
earlier, it wanted me to set up an account, it's crazy and I'm sick of going round in circles.
any help would be appreciated.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIt seems your account has got confused so I'm escalating this for you. I have exactly the same set up as you and it's working fine so I assume there is kind of account issue. Look out for a blue invitation chat bubble on this page in the next couple of days.

Thank you, I'll keep you informed 👍

Turns out I've a faulty puck, but they want me to pay for it's replacement as I've had it 18months and is out of warranty.

Did a full software update.
no difference.
did a "reset all apps"
no difference
haven't tried a factory reset.
however, I did try one more experiment.
i logged my wife into Discovery+ and she watched a couple of shows, switched to another channel, watched a programme, then tried to reopen Discovery+ (NB, during this time the puck was permanently on) lo and behold, we were signed out and had to start procedure again.
In my mind this means Puck isn't responsible (directly) but link between SKy &Discovery is at fault.
any ideas?

Sorry, should have mentioned, no issues with any other apps or programmes!

This has not been resolved.
currently, Discovery+ are down 1 x viewer as my Wife has simply given up.
She, quite rightly, will not keep going through the "cookie selection/sign in" process every time she wants to watch something.
Sort this out SKY - Discovery, it's a complete mess of your streaming technology capabilities.
please read the whole thread and get back to me.

Just to let you know, I resolved this by doing the Factory Reset, then re connecting my puck to my main account.
After doing this, everything has worked fine.
