Re: ALLM causing lag spikes/screen jumps every 5 seconds

Hi,

There has been 2 build updates in the last couple of weeks so it must be one of them that has resolved the issue.

Re: ALLM causing lag spikes/screen jumps every 5 seconds

Can I ask you guys are you seeing what I'm seeing since this update. After playing a while, maybe a few hours, my sound goes out of sync with my gameplay, so I'll fire my gun on screen then the sound will happen shortly after. It happens with both auto & PMC sound settings on glass, only happens in games not the TV, it's pretty much as bad as our previous issue as it now happens every play session. A quick turn on & off fixes it, until it happens again. Feels like whatever they've done to fix the original issue has caused this

Re: ALLM causing lag spikes/screen jumps every 5 seconds

I have moved my xbox into my spare room onto a gaming monitor so can't really comment as I don't use it on the glass anymore.

But It would not surprise me the issue you are having as I have it with normal watching of the tv.

Quickly changing channel solves it but 1-2 hour later audio is out of sync.

Perfect example for me is when I watch the F1

After the race finishes and they interview the drivers the audio is out of sync big time.

Another example is similar scenario but after a football match, they interview players and lips massive out of sync.

It's a annoying issue but change channel and switch back and problem is gone for another couple of hours.

Maybe similar is happening with console, all I can suggest is maybe switch to something from live tv then back to xbox input see of that resolves it for you

Re: ALLM causing lag spikes/screen jumps every 5 seconds

Never noticed it when watching the apps like Netflix etc but maybe that's because we mainly watch tv shows and they are 45-60mins each and maybe when a new episode starts something refreshes, who knows.

But what I can confirm is that is if something is playing long enough the audio will eventually go out of sync that's why I notice it more on F1 and football as they both run for approx 2hours

Re: ALLM causing lag spikes/screen jumps every 5 seconds

@Robmcc83 cheers for the input. I can say though I usually game all day, around house jobs, so my Xbox is on 8am to 5pm roughly & it's never gone out of sync in 4 years, not once. Only been happening since the previous issue was fixed. Feels more than a coincidence but idk

Yeah I turned Dolby sound off on my Xbox I think & it stopped, changed it back to stereo.

Cheers, what about the lag with the Allm and game mode, have they fixed that? Apparently it used to skip every 5 seconds due to it not switching to 60hz properly.

Re: ALLM causing lag spikes/screen jumps every 5 seconds

2 quick things, the picture as a TV can look bad without tweaking the custom picture settings. The only real sky set setting that's good is extra vivid but it's very bright & for some reason game shows look really bad, shame really as it looks really good but will potentially hurt your eyes - try it with auto backlight adjustment turned on, might help, much depends on your room & eyes lol.

For gaming they all look bad especially extra vivid so you'll deffo need a custom settings, I'll send you mine if you're struggling but I have colour really high at maybe 90, contrast just below midway, video brightness same as contrast at like 45, sharpness 0-10,

The main settings for both gaming & TV i have Dolby vision on dark. Hdr mode on dark. & auto backlight on.

For sound turn the bass boost thing off unless you've no neighbours lol & turn on enhance speech quality. If you've any sound issues at all put digital audio output on pcm stereo.

The takeaway is fiddle with the settings a lot until you're happy. & there's 2 settings saved even though it doesnt say so, at least the custom picture settings tab, so when you switch between gaming & TV it auto adjusts. I have TV colour on 70 & gaming as 90, sounds high & it might be on glass 2 as it's a better screen so spend time getting it right for you 👍
