I have Sky in Italy. On Sky Q, the subtitles on UHD content didn't work either. But now, after a firmware upgrade, subtitles work even on UHD content but they still aren't perfect - they flicker when coming on/off screen, every single new subtitle, so it's annoying but better than no subtitles at all. I'm not sure about Sky in the UK, bit in Italy, they use teletext subtitles.

Are there any updates on when we will be able to access subtitles on UHD content? Very frustrating.

Probably when Sky release Ultra Ultra Mega HD in 5 years time for an extra £30 per month.

I am not going to renew Sky Q. They have not done anything about subtitles with UHD for years. Why should Customers pay a fortune for it? I will move to Now Tv, which is by far more reasonable (and not with 18 months contract)!

You do realize that Sky is subtitles heaven compared to Now TV?
They don't do live TV subtitles. They don't do series subtitles in general. They sort of started adding subtitles a couple of years back but the last time I checked it's hardly universal and prioritises movies.
Caveat: I haven't checked Now TV for a while. Once every few years I get the trial period to check if the situation has improved. So far it's always been a solid "no".

Posted by a Sky employeeHi @EFCCJ
We are aware of this gap and do appreciate the frustration.
We are actively working on it. It is dependent on a technical upgrade to our platform which is ongoing.
We expect to have more to share in 2022.

@DaveAccess
Thank you for replying. My wife and I tried to watch a film in UHD last night and gave up after 20 minutes as we didn't understand a word that had been said. We love nearly everything about Sky, but, lack of subtitles is poor, particularly as all your competitors manage to provide this service for UHD viewing.

No problem. I understand. As a visually impaired person who relies on audio description, I fully empathise with the frustration when you can't watch something you want to watch.
Hopefully we'll see that progress sooner rather than later, and will post to the accessibility board here when we do.

Billions - Seasob 2 from episode 4/5 - subtitles skip every other line.
Love how Sky have found a new way to frustrate their customers.
No subtitles? - Check
Every other subtitle - Check

9/11 Obe Day In America - No Subtitles
Do you really want me to go through and lost where you don't have subtitles? Or can you just maybe acknowledge your subtitle programme isn't very good?

It is well known that Sky don't provide subtitles on 100% of their content, no channels do

As has been said before. You post that like it is some sort of acceptable answer.
Do you think that is an acceptable answer?

Also who is "it well known by" because certainly not me.
Why are you making assumptions? Are you saying I should already know that Sky don't offer very good subtitle options? Is that my responsibility

I'm just giving the facts, because it's not well knows to you does not mean it's not well known! The majority of subtitle users will know that no broadcaster provides 100% subtitle coverage and have not done so for many many years
No where did I say you should know, nice of you to twist my words 😞
