There's a couple of things that may help you here, and in fact make Sky Q better than Sky+ for you.
Voice Guidance is a screen-reader for Sky Q. Here's the help article:

And you can also use the Sky Go app to browse the TV guide etc, as you did with the Sky+ app before:
