Lack of progress for blind customers

Hi,

I've posted about this before but never really got anywhere.

I love sky Q, and think it is fantastic, however, there are still sticking points that are stopping it from being perfect.

Don't get me wrong, I am over the moon with the voice guidance and love using it, however it feels like something that was put in and then not improved. For example, the verbosity option never seems to stick, and I would love to be able to change the speech rate.

There are also really simple things it still cannot do; for example if you want to see scheduled recordings, you can only do this in the sky go app, and none of the management / advanced library management features such as recently deleted etc are accessible. None of the in-built apps are accessible, meaning that you have to either rely on your TV’s, or buy something extra like an apple TV or chromecast to access e.g. prime video.

The voice guidance feature  also labels lots of programs with having audio description when they don't, and that moves me on to my second point.

The lack of catch up / on demand audio description is still appalling. This is very frustrating as it means that we are stuck with having to troll through the TV guide looking for repeats etc, and do not get to enjoy any extra things like Dolby atmos, as the sound quality of programs with audio description is absolutely dreadful. Even things that don’t have AD I end up having to turn the AD feature off as it makes everything sound awful.

I know sky are putting all their money and focus into sky glass and stream, however I would ask to make sure that Q isn’t left behind.

Thanks,

Kieran.
