Subtitles

@Chodley I was being a tad facetious, forgive me.
I was merely coming from the angle that if you're the sort of person who prefers the clarity that subtitles bring then surely you'd be precise enough not to use abbreviations that could cause confusion.
Just for the record, I am rather fond of switching subtitles on myself, especially when watching content from George R. R. Martin's universe whilst they immensely irritate Mrs Loyal so I'm not at all criticising the notion of using them.

Hmm well if we're going full pedant then I think the context was completely clear in the text of the opening post.

@Chodley well yes and no, context can be skewed in any direction you want.
In this day and age where folk love to shorten not particularly long words I'd suggest if you asked 100 people what subs is short for 99 would say substitutes or subscribers.
I'd go as far as to say I remain to be convinced that even the 1 out of that 100 would come up with subtitles.
Anyway have a lovely evening.
