Disabled use told to get a friend to help

Hi

i tried to cancel my SkY TV today and when it came to finalising I was told i would have to return the equipment but they couldn't arrange a pick up. So i told them that i was disabled and housebound temporarily and they said to get a friend to help out and I said no leave it as it is as i would rather watch the thing im paying for than have to pay for a useless piece of equipment because i was disabled.

However, then 2 minutes later the cancellation came through a

with the attached threat of being charged for non returned items. Is this usual practice for Sky to ignore a disabled persons decision to not go ahead and process anyway.  Im now having increased pain and panic attacks about being charged for something i didnt request in the end surely they need my final 'yes' to go ahead or do they think because i am disabled they have the right to make decisions for me!!
