BSL Interpretation Schedule Between Christmas and New Year

With the finalizing of movies with BSL Interpretation done, I'm excited to share with you what's in store for BSL Interpretation from Christmas to New Year across BBC, ITV, and Sky – where subtitles are available for the Signed versions.

Let’s start with ITV:

  • It's A Wonderful Life – showing from 3:50 AM - 6:00 AM on Christmas Day on ITV1.

Now, let’s head over to the BBC (on BBC Two😞

  • Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl – showing from 7:20 AM - 8:40 AM on 27th December
  • Matilda (musical fantasy) – showing from 6:40 AM - 8:30 AM on 30th December

And now, for Sky (for those who need a reminder):

  • Bad Tidings (from Sky Max) will be available with BSL on-demand starting tomorrow (21st December). So, not long to wait!

Sky Cinema Select – Sky 303 (currently named Sky Cinema Best of 2024) will be showing back-to-back BSL-interpreted movies on Saturday 28th December, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM:

  • Wonka (Signed) at 10:00 AM
  • Lee (Signed) at 12:00 PM

These movies are provided through the excellent partnership with Red Bee Media, who has brought BSL versions to major films like Oppenheimer, 10 Lives, Top Gun, and Ferrari. Now, they're bringing BSL versions of Wonka and Lee to our screens!

Can’t wait? Great news! Both Wonka (Signed) and Lee (Signed) are available on-demand on Sky Go and streaming on NOW (released today – a fantastic early Christmas present, I’d say!). Alongside those, you can also catch Oppenheimer (Signed), 10 Lives (Signed), Ferrari (Signed), Top Gun (Signed), and Barbie (Signed) – all available to view right now.

A bit of a downside? You need a Sky Cinema subscription to access these titles!

A massive THANK YOU goes out to Francesca Bussey and the large team of Sky's Access Services for making these BSL offerings available. Without their dedication, none of this would be possible.

Looking ahead, I'm hopeful that Sky will continue to expand BSL access in 2025 – maybe even go one better than the BBC, who are planning a pan-BSL season next year. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for more!

Stay tuned and enjoy the festive films with BSL this holiday season!
