Apparently I need to download the sports+ app to my mobile before I can watch league 1 football.
Each app I try has asked for a credit/debit card for identification purposes including the cvv.
Is this a scam. No payment is required so why is the cvv required.

You do need to subscribe to the Complete Sky Sports pack to watch the Sky Sports + streams in the Sky Sports app.
The Sky Sports app is also available to watch the extra Sky Sports+ streams on Sky Q, Glass and Stream, in the app rails.
If you have Sky+ hd, you can only watch the Sky Sports + streams via the Sky Sports mobile app, but still need to subscribe to the Complete Sky Sports pack.

This is the app which I need to use skygo on my iPhone to access the full array of matches on channel 412.
My question is - why do Sky require full details of my credit card including the cvv number when the app is free.
I would like confirmation that sky really do ask for this information thus confirming that I am not walking into a scam

On Sky Go you can not watch all the games on channel 412 like you can on a Sky Q box as you can only watch what is being shown on the channel itself which is why you need to install the Sky Sports app instead as this will allow you to view these games.

Thanks but I understand already what you are telling me.
My question relates to the need for credit card details to be shown during the downloading process. I, as everyone is encouraged, should not give out these details unless necessary.
In the official sky site do they ask for these details and why?

You should be downloading the Sky Sports app from your phone's App Store. There isn't a specific Sky sports app+ for mobile devices it's built into the Sky Sports app.

Thanks
I have downloaded the skysports app for my iphone from your app.
This appears to be available for apple products only. This leaves me with the problem of getting the sports= app for my HP pavillion.

The app is only available for phone and tablets - you can't access the bonus sky sports + streams from a laptop or desktop PC.

It would have been handy to know this at the start !
The only possible way you might be able to get that app installed is to install an Android emulator which will then allow you to install it.

Thanks for your help.
Mark; following your help I now realise the problem and have loaded the app for my iphone. Thanks
Caesarome: my initial concern was getting the app for my iphone which I now have. I don't see that raising the laptop initially would have helped in anyway,
It is obvious that there are sites on the internet posing as Sky asking for financial details. Sky need to put out warnings
