Sky Sports Site = Unexpected Error trying to login

I can logon to the main sky site with my user, but when I try to login to the Sky Sports site I get an "unexpected error" message.

I enter my username and password, then go through the recaptcha check and then have to provide my surname and approve terms and conditions. This always goes through to an unexpected error screen.

I've tried on a phone and a windows laptop on a broadband connection and mobile network wifi connection. I've also cleared all cookies and history etc.

This renders the whole sky streaming "feature" pointless.

I've seen some reports saying passwords can't have special characters but I can't change my password either.

Please help

Have you tried changing yoir password which you can do here:

https://skyid.sky.com/resetpassword/

Make sure it only has letters and numbers in it.

Changing the password looks to have fixed it, eventually.

If I requested to change the password via my email address, clicking on the link on the email said the session had expired.

When I requested to change it by SkyId, it worked.

It's embarrassing that Sky can't even get something as simple as logging in, default password requirements and password reset working

My password already doesn't contain special characters, only letters and numbers and I get the error code after confirming my surname. I will only be watching on the app so it's infuriating that I've signed up to subscription and log in via app isn't working! 

sky definately has got worse over the years! I used to rate them the best company to exist! Don't know what happened across the board tbh. You can't even get a real person to live chat with! And the virtual chat is as useful as dust

Something else to try:

Make sure your title (Mr, Mrs etc..) and surname is filled in here:

https://www.sky.com/mydetails/sky-id

Then see if you can login to the site.

Ah!! Aren't you a little gem! That worked! I wasn't aware it wasn't already filled in! You'd think it would be wouldn't you?
