Using the latest version of the Sky Sports desktop player (though the app appears not to have been updated in years.)
The picture fluctuates between HD and a complete pixalated mess. I'd take a screenshot, but although Sky can't stream a viewable image, evidently they do make sure their DRM works flawlessly.
This is the case with a wired connection to a Sky broadband with a 100mbps speed. It is also the same on multiple PCs running diffenet version of Windows.
I would never advocate viweing content illegally, but for research purposed I took a look at a random stream of the same content. It was both stable and high quality.
So 2 questions.:
1) Why would the official app look so utterly terrible?
2) Why should I contune to pay Sky for this 'service' when it is unviewavble, given the obvious alternative?

Hi, I am having exactly the same problem with the Sky Desktop Player. It's been going on for months now and I know it's affecting a number of users. All other streaming is completely time, so it's nothing to do with the internet connection and must be problem with the app. Please can someone provide a fix!

Considering that the Sky go app is limited to 720p that would not fix his issue one bit. The question that has to be asked is whether the Sky sports app mobile or desktop also limited to 720p?
