Re: On-line Sky TV news error
Hi, thank you for prompt reply.
I 'view' Sky News on the Internet website, today I started to get the above error. I'm running W7 pro 64bit with Firefox 115.33 ESR.... BBC New's works fine along with many other websites, just Sky News website is giving a 'No access error'

Re: On-line Sky TV news error
Not sure what website you are using but this one is working for me:
https://news.sky.com/watch-live
Are you using an advert blocker or VPN with Firefox that could be causing this issue.

Re: On-line Sky TV news error
That link sure does work BUT if I click a link, say, 'Politics' or 'World' for example I get-:
Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "https://news.sky.com/world" on this server.

I always used https://news.sky.com/uk that led directly to the error message

They do work for me as they go to these links:
So can you access them via these two ?

Re: On-line Sky TV news error
No, sorry they won't open I get the error. The link you gave opens it is only when I try to click a link on that page i.e If I click Politics, World or what ever link I get 'barred', now then if |I click the Sky UK link as I've always done I get the error streight away, clicking the link you gave opens the page but clicking ANY link on the page gives me the error.
Now then late last night I Googled https://errors.edgesuite.net it appears ther culprit is Microsoft Edge which is not installed as I use Firefox.
When time permits I've a spare SSD and will iinstall Linux Mint see how that goes, I know Win 7 is an oldie, it does what I want it to do and my PCB cad., But this is the only problem I have with it, all others are fine.
Should I manage to sort it I'll report back, just got to thank you for your perseverance in the matter, it's very good of you.

Ah.... I thought it was just me, thanks for letting us know. It was late and I did think it was linked to Edge, I did contact them about it, hope I'm not barking up the wrong tree...! If you got to MS Edge website they to had a lot of trouble like this, it was that what made me surggest MS Edge..

Re: On-line Sky TV news error
Steered well clear of any kinda of MS browser since IE5 😃
I tried a 'guest profile' in brave (so that it didn't load my default profile settings/extensions) and that gets me access, so it's definitely something being "fingerprinted" that Sky has enabled within their Akamai settings (Akamai themselves won't decide to block access, it'll be the customer (Sky) ruleset). Could be something like aggressive fingerprint blocking, or the canvas block extension I'm running, haven't gone through all of the stuff, but might give you something to go on Dave if you're interested in trying to resolve the issue if you're using certain extensions in Firefox.
I tried accessing it with Waterfox which I have pretty locked down and using various extensions, and that's working fine still too.
You might be able to try with the 'Private browsing window' option in Firefox to see if that affects your access (depending on if/what extensions you have allowed access top private browsing), just to see if it's your browser or IP address. You can also use this site: https://www.akamai.com/us/en/clientrep-lookup/ to check your IP address' reputation with Akamai in general.
Hope the info helps a bit.

Re: On-line Sky TV news error
Hi Ian_H
Yes tried Private browsing mode and that didn't work, thanks for that link, I've just tried it and I'm OK. Tell you what, I have Windows update turned well and truly off BUT not by me, they were turned back on twice with files ready for booting.... I deleted them and the folder. I stopped using MS browser, after experience with Internet Exploder as I call it. No more MS for me thanks . Just had a brain wave..... I could use Win 7 but it doesn't HAVE to be on-line does it, not for what I want it for.
Thanks again. Dave

Re: On-line Sky TV news error
I'm getting exactly the same problem, Chrome on Windows 10 PC. The Sky News website was perfectly OK before yesterday, but I wouldn't be surprised if something like Cloudflare is the culprit as I have various sites that no longer work for me because of that thing. Sky News has been my go-to site for years, but it looks like I'll have to go elsewhere. The irony is that my broadband is with Sky, so presumably it can't be my IP address that's the issue.

Re: On-line Sky TV news error
Thanks jubs15
Something funny going on here, I click the lock symbol in the header it says connection secure underneath it says Mozilla certificate issuer not recognised by Mozilla....?
Wonder if you care to check yours, I appreciate it's a different platform...... like on here I'm having great difficulty in rersolving this, like you I've been using Sky News for years.... seems they put the boot in here and doing nothing about it? In fact I'm getting sick of Sky TV, repeat after repeat after repeat, time to send em' packing is my way of thinking...!

Re: On-line Sky TV news error
Sorted...!
What I did was to install 'User swithing agent' https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/uaswitcher
I don't know if it works or there's one for other platforms. At first I thought it wasn't working - no i-con, it was being hidden in the three bar drop down menu on top right hand side.
