I don't want to sound like a tin hat wearing conspiracy theorist, but it's almost as though they don't want people to actually be able to claim their free offer?!

sky/sainsburys rewards

Every week I get a reward to use at Sainsburys but every week for one reason or another |I cannot redeem it.  Last week it was becuase I was using self scan, the week before I was told it was becuase the voucher code continually moves and this week  I could not even access the code in store.  I never had this problem when the reward was cadburys chocolate at Tescos

The barcode is meant to constantly change, it's designed that way to prevent people screenshotting the voucher and sharing it out with others.

 

Also it does work on a self service till.

 

Normally if it doesn't scan the  thing to do is to turn the screen brightness on your phone up to the maximum, give the phone screen a little wipe to ensure there is no dust or dirt obscuring part of the code preventing it from scanning and to hold the barcode over the scanner for several seconds.

Yet another demostration of Sky's distain for it's customers. Hiking prices, then trying to justify with free offers you cannot collect.

Just been into my new local Sainsbury's superstore. 
grabbed the taste the difference pizza and yet again the code would not scan. 3 members of staff came over, Increased screen brightness to full, removed screen protector and held phone for at least 10 seconds ........ and nothing !!

 

manager came over and said he's fed up with these sky offeres as not 1 has worked so far that he's aware of, also no maunual code for staff to enter.

He removed the pizza from my bill and gave it to us for free as an apology. Good for me but not Sainsbury's whom will not get paid by sky promotions.

Got each of my weekly treats apart from the love corn as they don't stock it anymore and they had none of the whitworths wonder mix as they sold out

Same - I've never had an issue claiming the weekly sainsburys treats ( for the products I actually like).

 

The only annoyance is for offers like this weeks free pizza where it's worth over £5, the sainsbury toll system requires staff approval so if using the self service checkouts you have to wait for a member of staff to approve the discount.

Staff have to approve the items regardless of what they are it's definitely no big deal

Not if the item costs less than £3.50 i believe. I recall some of the offers where the value was around this figure and it doesn't require staff approval.

I too couldn't redeem my voucher because of the barcode constantly moving. Sainsburys staff were unable to get it to work either so no free pizza for me 😞 

I think that being sent a barcode by email would be much better for all involved

That might work the pizzas are monthly so keep trying each time you get a code

I had all the same issues trying to claim the pizza as the crisps a fortnight ago, apart from one: no need to queue at customer service this time. My local Sainsbury's has had so many problems with this offer that the till staff have now all been briefed on what to do: they just do a manual price reduction. It's the only way they can make the offer work.

I had no issue with any offers I only didn't get love corn as they no longer stock it and they ran out of whitworths wonder mix
