Complete fail here. Special trip to Sainsburys due to absurdly short redemption window for this offer, free packet of Love Corn (worth £1.10 according to the shelf label, wow that's what a Diamond Member gets for spending about 10 grand on Sky for 15+ years) rejected at checkout, staff said "lots of people having problems because there's no code number for us to key in, and the barcodes won't scan". Thanks Sky, get this sorted out, give us a longer window so we don't have to drive there between weekly shops, put a code number on it so if your useless barcode won't scan then they can key it in. I left the corn there and walked out. Won't even bother again unless it turns up when I'm actually there shopping.

I'm totally fed up of not being able to claim these offers. I do not believe Sky are working hard enough to resolve this issue either. I've contacted them twice now & nothing whatsoever has improved. Lousy VIP offer if so many of us can't claim them.

So true but I've not yet had issues with codes I only had issues twice to them not stocking love corn any more and they ran out of wonder mix

Indeed i've also not had an issue when i've wanted the product being offered.

 

What i feel is likely an issue, is that Sainsbury needs to train their staff better on how to ensure the living barcodes will scan. The sainsburys till system clearly accepts them ( otherwise living barcodes wouldn't be used), so the staff working at a store should know how to get the barcode to scan. I've found by turning the brightness right up on my phone and by holding ( and not moving) the barcode over the scanner for a few seconds it then scans with no issues. My tip for anyone using a self service checkout is to hold your phone vertically for the vertical scanner on the self service checkout to scan it, i've never had success holding the phone facing downwards for the horizontal scanner on the self service checkout.

It wasn't clear in the offer (as far as I could see when I tried it) whether you're supposed to scan the product itself or the "living code". 

 

What's the procedure? Scan the product with the self-scan handset (or scan the product at the checkout), then select coupons at the till during checkout and scan the "living code" as a coupon on the coupon scanner (the vertical one)?  That's the normal procedure for getting discounts or freebies via a coupon code on a voucher... I could try that next time instead of trying to get the customer service desk to do it which failed miserably!

Re: Redeeming a vip offer code

I received an email from Sky saying that I can have a packet of love corn from Sainsbury's by redeeming my voucher, I went today picked up my free packet of love gone and guess what? Barcode does not work and Sainsbury's said I need to contact Sky what a waste of my time making this trip. The assistant said most of the Sky vouchers do not work which is a shame for customers
