Cannot get my sky app to connect on I pad I have uninstalled the app then reinstalled but just shows continue and spinning circle

Cannot get onto my sky app on my iPad just loading all the time been doing it for few month tried everything going an it's just not working uninstalled it done everything so trying to see my bill on my phone is a bit hard need this sorting out

Hi I can't get the My Sky app to work on my iPad Pro. iOS 16.7.15.

 

I've tried everything. Turning the router on and off. Turning the iPad off and on. Forcing a close, clearing the cache. I've deleted it and tried to reinstall. It tries to set up takes my User id and password, gets as far as 'Continue' then just buffers endlessly.

 

It just stopped working for no apparent reason. Now I can't even get it to set me up after a new installation.

 

Any help would be great.

I wouldn't hold your breath - I started this back in November & you will see everyone has tried all the things you've mentioned many times & still nothing works 

The only way to access VIP is via iPhone app which works 

The whole issue is with Sky app on iPads but Sky couldn't care less

So ive had this problem for weeks. I just found a solution for my situation I dont know if it will help anyone else. I turned my VPN off and it worked immediately

I could understand VPN having an issue but many of us will not be using a VPN. I am not.

 

It would be intersting to know your  iPad version , iPadOS etc

Sky App on iPad – Important Information for Anyone Affected

Just a quick update for anyone still struggling with the MySky app on iPad.

1) The new Sky update (10.9.1) just released.  Both of my iPads continue to buffer endlessly after installing this latest update. Nothing has improved.

2) Sky previously confirmed they were aware of the issue A Sky Executive told me weeks ago that the problem was being investigated. Despite this, Sky still advertises the app as compatible with iPads running iOS 15.4 or later. Given that this fault has been ongoing for around six months, that claim is now misleading.

Sky have now advised me that the matter is considered a “dispute” and that I should take it to CISAS if I’m unhappy. That strongly suggests a fix is not coming any time soon.

3) Sky say only a ‘small number’ of iPads are affected That doesn’t add up. To test it properly, I wiped one of my iPads back to factory settings , effectively making it a brand‑new device. I then installed only the MySky app. It still didn’t work. Just buffering again.

4) What this means for the community Please don’t waste hours trying to fix this on your own. The issue is not with your device, settings, or Wi‑Fi. It’s the app.

You can still access all your Sky account privileges by logging in through the MySky website instead of the app.

Great update,
While you can see many features on the Sky website, I am unaware of accessing VIP offers.

Such offers appear to be only through the App, imo.

 

While Sky state there are only a few affected iPads, it's a lame excuse. The iPad OS is supported or not, they say it is .....

The problem Sky will face is that they are probably only testing via a simulator and not using an actual physical machine with the OS version installed.
Going to CISAS will be pointless, Sky are just duckng the issue. They have yet to tell me it is a dispute and I will be raising the same fault with Sky (they promised to phone me last time, but didn't) when I attempt to use 10.9.1

Nigel, you are right, for VIP rewards you are directed back to the app that does not work. It worked a few weeks ago but all alternate routes to the rewards such as using the iPad in a web based mode etc. have been blocked by Sky.

This means they are selling a service that they claim will work on iOS 15.4 or later when they know it does not.  And they have blocked all alternative routes to customers getting their rewards.  They are miss selling a valuable customer service and hopefully If I find the time I will lodge a complaint to CISAS.

You can see VIP rewards on the app on iPhone 

The fault seems to be iPad not iPhone
