Where's the scheduled recordings page on Sky Q?

It's not gone. We've moved scheduled recordings in the latest Sky Q update. Disaster averted.

 

To help you keep on top of your recordings, we’ve introduced Manage, where you’ll now find Scheduled recordings.

Rentals are not something that’s recorded or downloaded from On demand. Also, this new Manage section make it harder to find what was once very easy to find. Please fix the Recordings and put them back as they used to be.

So now I have to  scroll even further down....and go into TWO menu options to get where I Could have gone before with just one click....

 

surely updates are are meant to make operation easier not harder! Absolutely stupid update, change it back!!

Who on earth thinks this is a good idea? Like the comments above it was fine as it was, you've just made it much worse. I can't think of a single person that would put Disk space usage is more important that your current scheduled programs.

 

Come on Sky at least ask some users before making these type of stupid decsions.I'm paying a premium for what seems to be a system admistered by people who don't even use it.

 

Of course the sensible solution would be to make the system USER configurable. Is the sky Q box that underpowered it couldn't handle a user configurable menu system. Surely you're not as bad as Apple?

 

When there are so many oher things to fix (like the up/down channel mess) why change a working item?

 

Do we now automatically get new remotes as the buttons are now going to get worn out much quicker?

No idea why you have moved scheduled to another sub group.  The sooner you move it back the better

Why make something complicated when it was easier to find in the first place. Whoever thinks of changes like these should be sacked. Dont try and fix something thats not broken.

Got to agree with other posts, there are enough menus options without adding another layer, surely the basic record requirements are 1/ what you have already recorded, 2/ what to continue to watch, 3/ what you’ve got scheduled, why oh why add another menu layer to get to this basic option???!

If you aregoing to add more menu levels,please add an icon to the beginning of the menu entry to tell us that there is another leevl under that one and most of the problems would be gone.

Sky, please move the scheduled recordings menu back to where it was. It now takes far too much effort to find out whether I have or haven’t successfully managed to set a program to record.

But WHY? Please move it back to where it was. It is a regularly used header so why have to go through further steps to reach it? Please explain if you really did have a necessity to move it. If not, why do it??? Look at the forums, users preferred it where it was.

Why make it more complicated? How about you simplify it and put the schedule  recording back where it was and  can we have a reminder like the good old days of sky+ by pressing the green button! Come on Sky sort it out!🤔

Hi everyone

After reading the posts I did some investigation and found it...once you’ve selected the manage press the right arrow button and it appears between disk space & downloading.....phew 🤪

Certainly not the most intuitive UI update I've seen be deployed.  Like a couple of previous comments, did you conduct user testing or run a system A/B test before releasing this update? 

 

Would love it if the scheduled option could be put back into the primary menu system for recordings rather than being a sub-menu option of a sub-menu. Cumbersome and not logical based on this thread and several others that have appeared in Google SERPS over the last 2 weeks.

Don’t like the scheduled tab buried in manage , I much preferred it before the update.

Please please move it back. That’s too many extra steps to get to a frequently used menu option. 

I agree with the others. Next to recordings, the schedule menu is the most used feature for me to check times and dates of my upcoming recordings. To move into another menu makes more difficult for a quick check. Move it back please!!

Like everyone else here says, move Scheduled back! Its a bad idea, and your brainstorming meetings need to concentrate on improving the service, not pressing more buttons! Remember, if it's more difficult to find for the tech savvy, it'll be near impossible for the some other users. Sort it, plus it'll cheer up the wife!!

Move scheduled back please. The most used pages should be on the top menu. Basic GUI design. As mentioned if you must mess about with it have a preferences option so people can have whatever set up they want. 

 

Don’t get me going on the ‘continue’ page. Utterly useless, baffling logic as to how that page works.  For example, things I’ve watched and deleted appear again as downloadable.

I could not find scheduled.... Wife just grabbed the remote I’ll show you where it is..... she could’nt either for goodness sake whose daft idea was to move it put it back to where it was PLEASE.

Can’t see why it has been moved. There is  plenty of space to have all the option in one list, now there is an extra step to get to it. Also it is not obvious the manage option contains additional menus.  Really was nothing wrong with how it was.

Even my boss (Rachael)  pulled me to one side to say her  scheduled recordings  had gone missing and I had to tell her about the changes Her comment was Tell Sky to move it back.  I do wonder how many more are thinking the same

Just adding my voice to the hundreds of other dissatisfied  customers. Why on earth would you do this? Did someone in a meeting say "let's move scheduled recordings to somewhere customers will have difficulty finding it"? 

Absolutely ridiculous, please listen to your customers and move it back ASAP.

Well done Sky, hide a most useful feature as deep in the menus as you possibly can. Another Sky mess up on Sky Q, keep on losing the features people use!

Here's a thought ask the users before changing something, if it ain't broke don't fix it!

Please put it back to how it was, it was much easier when scheduled and deleted were in the first menu, this needs to go back to how it was.

This change is hugely frustrating! I used Scheduled Recordings daily and enjoyed how easy it was to access. Now I have to scroll and click though so many options -- WHY?? It may seem like a small thing to 'those who make decisions', but it's a big thing to those of us who liked it as it was. Sky Q forces me to select or scroll pointlessly through  so many options already,  now this.  We implore you to put scheduled recordings back where it was! Make TV great again!

This is ridiculous, why on earth would you put ‘Schedule’ into a sub menu, we just want a quick and easy way to check that we have got everything set up to record as quick and easily as possible, this is such a backward step.

We pay enough for your service, a polite reply is the least that you could do.

Just to add to my earlier comment, last night 2 of my favourite shows clashed because my partner didn't realise I had them scheduled and therefore recorded several other things at the same time. Both of my shows do not appear on catch-up so I have lost them. I pay loads for Sky because my favourite thing in the world is to come home from a stressful job and watch my shows - so losing a couple of episodes to clashes ruins my evening Smiley Sad I appreciate you've told us where to find it now, but it's so long winded, I know my partner won't scroll all the way there to check what's scheduled before setting things to be recorded. Please put it back Smiley Sad And remove that annoying 'Continue Watching' option - no one uses it and it's the first option available causing us all to scroll immediately upon switching on the box.

Anyone got the number for Virgin? I'll be switching if stuff like this keeps happening . Moan over.

Thank you for your reply Kei + M, the point that we are all making, is that although we know ‘Schedule’ has been moved to, it’s just so impractical, and I am sure that you would agree, that ‘Schedule’ being an important part of the main menu, and used frequently by us all, to now make this a sub menu item, makes no sense at all.

I, and I am sure I speak for many others, think that this should be addressed, and have ‘schedule’ put back where it rightly belongs, as part of the main menu.

Who suggested moving it? Can’t be “customer” feedback so probably come from an overpaid consultant who “knows best”.

Which absolute helmet decided to put "Scheduled recordings" hidden away deep down in sub menus?! You should  go to "recordings" and then "scheduled" and it should be there!!! 🤬 CHANGE IT BACK AND DEMOTE THE IDIOT WHO THOUGHT IT SENSIBLE TO FIDDLE ABOUT WITH IT!!

What a truly daft idea. What idiot thought of that.  I like to see at a glance what I have got recorded for the week to check a) that I have the programmes I want set to record and b) to see if any recordings clash.. Please put it back to how it was.
