I am having to replace the batteries in my sky glass remote probably twice a week. This can't be right?
I have used different types of batteries. (Ie cheap and expensive).
Think it needs replacing. Only had since December.

Are they actually running out? Or are you just replacing them when the on-screen message tells you to?
There's a know bug that makes the low battery warning show up in error.
So you may have been throwing away perfectly good batteries all this time.

Like you my remote chews through batteries but not to the extent yours does. Mine last about 3 weeks but as sky were having so many problems with the Glass/Stream remotes it was not worth requesting a new one so I just bought a load of cheap Amazon Basics batteries so it is not costing me much. Now Sky have a new batch of remotes I will be requesting a new one.
