I have recently not been able to recieve mail from Sky Yahoo using my Windows 10 Mail App. It has worked fine up until recently but now seems to be playing up. I have deleted my account on the Mail App and then reset it once more and all seems ok but no mail. Occasionally a mail will come through but it seems very haphazzard. I do a send and receive on Mail and it goes off to get mail but nothing happens. I have sent a test message and that has appeared on my Yahoo Mail account so the send seems ok it is all down to recieving mail! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated...

As of 5/11/2022 windows mail does require the password generator generated password. iam constantly getting emails in this format. ive uninstalled Mail a dozen times to no avil ive updated my password numerous times, i wish sky didnt discontinue Live mail support. ive even tried MS outlook and it downloads contantly slowing my PC. is there a way to get Live mail to workwith sky in 2022 i have been told the error below can not be fixed as its a yahoo issue on there side. this seems to only effect Windows Mail which seems to be the only safe WORKING app that sky say to use or support. most other email clients contain ads and dodgy software.

The former doesn't require a generated app password, the latter isn't OAuth2 compliant and does require one. There's nothing Sky can do to make it compliant.
I use MS Outlook 2019 without problem so you may have a configuration issue with your setup. Mozzila Thunderbird should also work well.

Your post includes many inaccuracies.
Windows 10/11 Mail does not need a generated password, but will work with one.
However the problem of formatting with them is well known, but strangely doesn't affect everyone, there is currently no known cure.
You should be able to use any email client/app you like (even Live Mail, but support for that from Microsoft was withdrawn years ago) but some will require a generated password.
If you only have one email account, take a look at eM Client, as that is free to use for up to 2 addresses (AFAIK) and is user friendly.

Hi, me too - some emails are fine and others are in code? (Desktop and Win10 Mail)
It's even worse on my laptop - Win 11 and Mail - sky/yahoo emails are very randomly received?? No problem at all on my phone - Android though, odd indeed?
