suspect email says its sky but but its not. says emails will be cancelled

Yep, it's an attempt to capture your log in details via the link, which is why it has been removed from your post.

There are no 'old versions' of Sky Yahoo Mail to update.

Mark it as spam, and otherwise ignore it.

Is this the same as the one asking user to choose an email and Sky will send a 6 digit code to verify which I just received when logging in.Have not received any code so assume its suspect.

I have never heard of that one but as it hasn't been possible to set up a new Sky email address for over 2 years now then yes that is another scam email so mark it as spam so it gets deleted.
