Yahoo emails after 16 days (last one) are being auto-deleted from the Inbox and moved to Trash.

Yahoo emails after 16 days (last one) are being auto-deleted from the Inbox and moved to Trash.

This started happenimng some time ago and I thought I had resolved it by downloading the Yahoo App.

This however is not the case and an e-mail dated 3rd December 2025, the oldest one in the Inbox was auto deleted today and moved to Trash.

I have changed the password and gone to 2 step verification, but am still unable to work out why this is happening and have checked all the Yahoo mail settings with nothing showing up.

This is not the issue.

I have used both together for years and Outlook does not remove anything and the emails are still retained there.

It is purely a Yahoo issue and only the oldest emails get deleted, both from iOS Mail and the Yahoo iOS App.

Sorry, but your reply makes it almost certain that it is an Outlook issue.

If the emails are being retained in Outlook, it means you have to be using POP not IMAP, and the POP settings in Outlook do have an option to remove email from the inbox after a defined period.

Can you confirm if you are using POP?

@PhilAn

Do you have any filters setup that could be causing this to happen ?

If not what happens if these emails are moved out of the inbox and into other folders that can be created for them ?

No filters setup.

Dont have any other folders setup as use Outlook on laptop, and just keep relevant stuff on phone.

@PhilAn

Is Ouook setup with the imap settings as opposed to the pop ones because if it is it would copy your online emai account here:

https://skyid.sky.com/signin/email/

So if you go to Settings (the screw icon on the right hand side) > More Settings > Filters - do you see any filter setup ?

What version of Outlook are you using, and is that using POP or IMAP?

Hi Caesorome

You pointed me in the right direction; I had a new laptop some months back and for some reason when setting Outlook up, which initially failed, it changed the settings to remove from server after 14 days.

Not sure I would have found this without you and another responder making me re-check Outlook on the laptop.

Thanks again.
