I think you need to be asking Apple those questions, no other email clients are having the same problems.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThere is no anti Apple attitude here because as explained the issue has been caused by an Apple update as there have been plenty of other people reporting the very same issue on here before you did.
Until it is fixed your options are to login to the sky website, use the Yahoo email app or use an app like Outlook to access your email account.

It sounds like it is all Apples fault then - nothing to do with Sky -
Do Sky superusers have unbiased views - receiving rewards from sky for their responses? just asking the question!
I did ask Apple about this issue and got a pretty good response that made me feel as if my issue had been considered fairly. But sadly no fix.
Is there any Network Guru on this site that has a full technical understanding of what might be the possible causes. can they suggest any network traces, trace routes or pings that we could do when the issue arises to provide further diagnostics? Trace the network dialogue through the appropriate ports on the smtp server or pop server? Or has all of this been done?

Absolutely, and we don't always agree.
When Sky makes a mess, as they have done with their implemetation of 2FA, we always speak up.

where is that network guru! Apples iNet tools provides a load of tools we could use if we only knew what to look for!

I have found a temporary fix!!!
load the Yahoo mail client onto your phone and when sky Yahoo mail is not working on the Apple Mail client go into the Yahoo mail look at one mail and that seem to clear the server issue!!!
