When viewing emails all the emails in my Inbox and all other folders just disappear.

When using Outlook as my email manager on a MacBook and viewing my Inbox all the emails suddenly disappear and I get a message that my Inbox is now empty. This applies to all folders.

 

If I wait long enough or Quit and restart Outlook all my content is there again. However, once I start reading my emails again the same thing can happen almost instantly or a few minutes later and it keeps repeating.

 

I am at the latest levels of MacOS and I have completely reinstalled Office 365 for Mac and it has made no difference. It appears to be a Yahoo issue.

 

Anyone experiencing the same and has fixed this, or can aynyone help?

Are you using the Outlook 365 email client? Or the Outlook app?

Odd. I've not seen the issue reported before. If you can log in and work with your emails via Sky.com here without any problem, it would seen that the fault lies with Outlook or the sync process not Sky Yahoo Mail: https://www.sky.com/signin/email

 

I don't see the same fault using Outlook 2019 (same version as Outlook 365, I believe) using POP. I'm guessing you're using IMAP.

Hi Mark,

 

Thanks for the update. Definitely looks like a sync issue. When the emails start reappearing the sync notification can be seen incrementing until complete. Thankfully I have a tidy Inbox and I don't have long to wait for the sync to complete, but the amount of times it happens is frustrating.

 

Which vendor is reposnsible for syncing so that I can contact them?  I will also contact Microsoft for support. And yes, I am using IMAP.

Hi @jambogogs in all honesty I'm not sure. I don't think Sky's mailservers play an active part, they just respond to the request coming from the client which would make it a Microsoft responsibility.
