Outlook 2021 onto my PC and I am getting the Spam mail from Sky Yahoo

I have just installed Outlook 2021 on my Windows 11 PC  which is working fine. However, it is also downloading spam mail from the Sky Yahoo server as well!! Can anyone help with this please?

If this is spam from your Sky Yahoo Mail Inbox, Outlook will download them as it would other emails.

@Jolypat  Mark them as spam, Outlook will put them in the junk folder.

You could also delete them and mark them as spam from your online account first and while they will still be downloaded then wouldn't end up in your inbox in Outlook.

They are already in the Sky Mail Spam folder but they still come to into Outlook 2021!

So to be clear, you are saying they are in your spam folder online but are being downloading to the inbox in Outlook, if so you are using POP or IMAP with Outlook as it should be the later as they will duplicate what you see via your online account.

Sorry for the delay in responding to this but have had other problems to sort out. 

So if I understand this there is no way to stop these spam emails from being downloaded from the main server? I am getting loads of them at present and even if I mark them as Junk and Block them on Outlook they still keep coming in. I think the only answer is to either grin and bear it (which I don't like as some of this mail is offensive) or go back to using the old fashiioned POP3 where all the spam mail was stored on the remote server and not downloaded. Most dissapointing!

As @caesarome says, where in Outlook are these spam emails arriving?

If they're in a spam folder, just ignore them, however if they are in the inbox we need to try to understand why?

POP3 will only download from the inbox.

The problem with that is that some genuine emails may end up in spam (false positives), so unless you are willing to check on-ine regularly, you may miss some emails.
