At the moment we are only supposing that the problem is the "hacker" having created an app password, it will be interesting to find if that is correct. Goog luck.

Re: Inbox e-mails after a short while are being transferred to "Delete" and then deleted
Returned to the fray today about 16:00 hrs. today 29.11.25
Followed link – the security and found under “Ways of signing in” that there was the hacker’s alternative e-mail address.
So I deleted this e-m a/c ….. however I had to provide a mobile number to receive a 6 digit ID confirmation.
Also I deleted 2 app generated password links [both appeared to be identical]. As it transpires seems they were mine and genuine …. leastways I had subsequent e-mail down-load problems. Rectified by using another generated password – though it did take me a long while to arrive at that point ! The old story – easy when you know how !
Am using Outlook : Version 2510 (build 19328.20244)
Generated passwords: Only when I have to like on this occasion !! Think my occasional computer-man used previously.
Thanks to you and the community for helping me out. Feel a great deal less stressed than I did at the beginning !

It seems that was how they were still gaining access, and not the generated password. I would have thought you changing the password would have locked that out.
We'll have to remember that if someone posts with a simillar probem, and we have learnt that there is a way to administer generated passwords. We (well me anyway) ddn't know that before.
Really glad you seem to have sorted it.

Had a look at the help links in the post above. They are good.
Actually did look at these pages on the second day and particularly found the one about settings to be of great help.
Today e-mail traffic seems to be back to pre-hack normal thank goodness. Now dealing with the fall out and trying to catch-up with admin !
Thanks to jayach and all for help received.
