I originally shared information in this email in case it would be of assistance to others. Those who read it did not give it a Like, and the one person who responded with a reply did so ungraciously and unappreciatively. See their response below. So I am withdrawing the information. I can't be doing anymore with people who only ever "take" or "challenge", as opposed to gratefully and humbly receiving.

Presumably if it does what it says, the BCC addresses are not sent, so it's not that Sky|Yahoo are ignoring them.

What proof do you have for this statement? Not saying you are wrong, but how do you know this?

"Suppressed" in this context means that all the recipients of such emails cannot see the BCC email addresses involved, although, obviously, the server can, otherwise it could not have delivered 1000s of such copies over the course of the last three decades , since the amazing "Pegasus Mail" was created in New Zealand by the remarkable David Harris.

I wasn't "ungracious or unappreciative". I just questioned what "suppress BCC listings in outgoing mail" actually means in Pegasus Mail, and asked for clarification on your statement.
But forum members can make their own minds up.
Withdrawing what you considered useful information because you got no likes (in 1 hour) and a query seems very strange.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreIt's a shame you choose not to engage, however this is what Pegasus Mail says of that setting.
Suppress BCC listings
Normally, when you send a message containing BCC addresses, Pegasus Mail lists all the BCC addresses in the BCC field of the message sent to those recipients: this means that all BCC recipients know who all the other BCC recipients of the message are. If you check this control, Pegasus Mail will simply enter Suppressed in the BCC field, and BCC recipients will not be able to tell whether there were other BCC recipients, or who they were.
Which seems really strange. I just sent BCC email, (using Outlook) and the recipients do not see the other BCC recipients (as I would expect), and the Sky SMTP server had no problems sending them.

@Dewberry009 wrote:I have been "pulling my hair out" for many months because I have not been able to BCC recipients while using the sophisticated email program "Pegasus Mail" (for Windows only).
Only today has the reason for this emerged. It's been because of Yahoo/Sky's revised spam policy!
Sometime in the past months Yahoo/Sky has begun rejecting BCC addresses which are "suppressed" . The excellent "Pegasus Mail" always one the option of suppressing BCC email addresses, so that even if recipients also use a sophisticated email program they cannot see the identities of other BCC recipients.
But today I have gone to Pegasus's Options > General Settings > Outgoing mail > Sending mail
and DE-SELECTED "Suppress BCC listings in outgoing mail".
The effect of this has been to finally re-allow me to send BCC copies to any email address I add, because the Yahoo/Sky server can now see the BCC email addresses.
Having changed the above setting, I have tested whether the identities of BCC recipients can be seen by whoever receives the email, by examining the received email using Pegasus's helpful "Raw Data" view. And unfortunately, because of instructing Pegasus to no longer suppress the BCC addresses, those addresses are now visible within the reams of Raw Data view.
I have asked a recipient who does not use a sophisticated program (like Pegasus Mail), if they can now see the identities of BCC recipients and they have said they can't.
A week ago I put this problem to Yahoo and got an email back requesting me to supply answers to difficult questions requiring copies of "telnet traces", etc., so I am so glad that this problem has now been solved without having to go through that misery. (But why didn't Yahoo just tell me that the problem was likely to be due to suppression of BBC addresses?)
Anyway, I hope this information may be of benefit to others.
