I have a new I phone and I can’t get into emails from the sky sign in page or from the yahoo app
Hi
i have a sky.com email address. Because of issues with the link to Apple outlook I have historically used the yahoo app only now I can't get in. I enter my email address but instead of taking me to a page to enter my password I get a completely blank page called skyidapp.sky.com. No error message just a blank white page. The same thing happens if I try to access my emails from the main sky sign in page, or if I try to access these discussion groups from safari. I can get in on the phone if I use google chrome not Safari.
i spent an hour and a half on the phone to sky support but they couldn't resolve and I've tried to turn off two factor auth but that hasn't worked. Java script is on.
Any ideas - it must be happening to other people with new devices.

You have answered your own question as it appears to be an issue with the Safari web browser so for email access you will have to use Chrome instead.
You could always install the Outlook email app and use these settings to access your account:
Select either "Other" or "Not Yahoo" then use these settings:
Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server
Server - imap.tools.sky.com
Port - 993
Requires SSL - Yes
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server
Server - smtp.tools.sky.com
Port - 465
Requires SSL - Yes
Requires authentication - Yes
You will then need to generate a 16 digit password and use that instead of your usual one, you can do that here:

As @caesarome says, all the problems seem to be Apple based, so calling Sky is probably not going to get you anywhere.
When you say "I've tried to turn off two factor auth but that hasn't worked", do you mean you can't turn if off, or it hasn't solved the Apple problems?

I meant it didn't solve the problem. I'm not convinced it's an apple problem as everything else seems to work and one of the main issues is that I can't get the yahoo email app to work - I open it, it asks for my email address then once you enter that it goes straight to the skyidapp page which won't load - just blank, no error message, nothing. So I can't enter my password so I can't set up the account on the yahoo email app. Most frustrating, but at least the outlook app seems to work.

No, Apple users don't believe it, but those of us who don't use Apple, and don't have the same problems, think differently.
When you use the Yahoo app, it will go the OAuth challenge (to get your password securely), and that will use your default browser, which will be Safari, and as you said earlier that was having problems itself, which Chrome didn't have.
Is it possible to make Chrome the default browser on the iPhone?

This can be found via Settings (in Chrome) > Default Browser > Open Chrome Settings > Default Browser App.

Making chrome the default browser doesn't help

Knowing Apple they probably still force Safari when opening links. (Microsoft are doing the same with their Edge browser)
Or it's nothing to do with the browser.
How did you get Outlook working, did you manually set it up? Or were you able to let use it use OAuth (you give it the email address, and it asks for the password in a separate browser pop-up)?

Re: I have a new I phone and I can’t get into emails from the sky sign in page or from the yahoo app
I was able to let the outlook app use OAuth, worked perfectly first time - but the yahoo app just goes to the blank skyappid screen. The key is in the permissions needed to get that skyappid screen to load s that is the link between the yahoo app, the Sky email screen on their Internet site and the log into the Sky fora. I haven't found anything else that doesn't work.

Re: I have a new I phone and I can’t get into emails from the sky sign in page or from the yahoo app
So Outlook is able to negotiate the OAuth challenge, but the Yahoo app can't.
Tends to say the Yahoo app is the problem, but it works fine on my Android phone (I've just re-added an account to it.), but I personally prefer Outlook.
And we haven't had loads of posters saying it doesn't work on their iPhone's (in fact many say they are using it as the Apple Mail app has so many problem)
So really I don't have an answer for you, maybe another iPhone user could confirm the OAuth setup works for them.
I suppose you could give the Apple Mail app a try, as it's a new phone, maybe it will work for you.
