@Blackadder44 Sky have acknowledged my post in the hidden forum, but realistically I'm not expecting to hear further from them until the beginning of next week, I'm afraid.

@rosemary+norwich

What device do you use to access your emails as you could use the app on it instead.

The only issue going forward you will have is that you do have to sign in online to keep the email account active and open.

Re: I do not have a mobile phone so I need to turn off two step verification

Is there an app i can use on my desktop running windows 10?

If so could you please link it as i am disabled and waiting for important emails to come through and i cant access my account due to mobile number on account being ancient, and they keep sending codes to that number....even when i ask to change that number

I do not have a mobile phone either.. I use Outlook to access my emails. So I cannot access my emails using the Sky website unless I have a mobile phone.. This is predudicial against people who do not have mobile phones. Sounds like another Yahoo folly.

We've asked Sky in a closed forum what you should do in these circumstances.  We'll let you know here when we have their guidance.

Nothing to do with Yahoo, their 2FA is still optional. (afaik)

Re: I do not have a mobile phone so I need to turn off two step verification

@Mark39

Hi did you get a response from your closed forum with sky?

I tried phoning this morning and tried to explain my situation after waiting ages and then was cut off
I dont mind signing for the 2fa, but for the love of whatever god you support they should at the very least allow you to do this

To recap
phone number listed with sky is 25 years old
Go into my sky account to change it and it sends a code to the exact phone number listed that i have no access too
Bit of a loop
Advice was to phone and get sky to change the number, but when i tried it took ages to get through, person didnt understand what my situation was, and then i get cut off

Not doing that again as too stressfull

I am registered disabled and have my whole life attached to this email and i cant access the darn thing!

sorry for the rant and its not directed at you guys who are only trying to help!!

@rosemary+norwich There are Authenticator apps in the MS App Store - https://apps.microsoft.com/search?query=authenticator+app&hl=en-GB&gl=GB - which should work to generate the otp.

Virginia.
I don’t work for Sky.
If I have helped then please leave a like.

Re: Verification code

I have been fighting this for over a year now. Everytime I report my problem I am told it is fixed, "it won't happen again" who are they kidding it had popped up for the third time in 2 weeks.

I have to go either to my church next door on my mobility scooter (I am disabled nd can't walk ) or to the local Costa to get reception with my computer on my lap. If it is bad weather I can't go out so no emails, no compter . This is beyond a joke .

Re: I do not have a mobile phone so I need to turn off two step verification

Liike you I am disabled and  I have no mobile reception in my flat. AI told me they are against the disability act , this is an accessability request and are under obligation to provide  they are supposed to provide  adjustments for disabled customers to allow accessibility.

My fight is now over a year old and on going.
