Fell for email scam by mistake - how do I recover my account

Despite being aware of the current sky upgrade scam I mistakenly clicked on the link on my mobile device while not paying attention earlier today.

It's an @Sky.com email address that I've had for 20 years so I don't want to lose it.

Straightaway I realised my error and went in to change my password but I could see another device was connected and my password had been changed.

I did have 2 factor authentication turned on linked to my personal mobile and I can still login with my original password despite goinmg through the steps to successfully change it to something new several times.

I can still get 6 digit codes to my mobile but don't seem to be able to take back control of my account.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more

Are you sure you are changing the correct password, the original password should not work if it has been changed. Use this link: https://skyid.sky.com/resetpassword/email

Re: Fell for email scam by mistake - how do I recover my account

Are you getting the 'your account has been suspended by yahoo, contact sky etc ' message every time you try to log into email. If so, your story sounds very similar to mine. I have changed my password numerous times, have 2 factor

authentication, but nothing is working.I was also scammed by the 'you need to update your account' message, although I didn't click on any of the enclosed links or respond to the email .  That might be what started this all off. I  have spent literally hours on the phone to sky over the last 9 days, being passed around the houses. Like you I have an old sky email address with lots of sensitive  correspondence that I can't afford to lose. I am becoming frantic tbh and I honestly don't think Sky is that bothered. They keep telling me my account doesn't look suspended and suggesting I contact yahoo. I have refused to get caught between sky and yahoo, and at the moment they are supposed to be speaking to yahoo, but given the response so far I'm not optimistic . I can't afford to give up though. I need the contents of my email box
