When I was younger, a family member made me my @Sky.com email address that is still my main one today. We are no longer very close, but it occured to me - do they have access to my mail as the primary account who created the account?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreOnly if you told them your password. You can change it here, if you want to be certain: https://skyid.sky.com/resetpassword/skycom
To be doubly sure, you could set up 2 factor login (but be sure to make a separate note of your Recovery Code if you do so and keep it safe)

No they have no access to your email account, unless they know your password.
