If it helps, here's the login link you need: https://skyid.sky.com/signin/email/

Strange email closure email and erronious account message

To whom it may concern,

I've recently recieved an email to my @Sky.com yahoo email address that claims I've not been active on the account, despite signing into the account several times a day on my home PC.

Checking my sky account page, there also appears to be a notification there, listing a different deletion date, also for inactivity, despite signing into there as well on a semi-regular basis.

Why have I, a regular user of the service, recieved these messages?

Oh, I've been trying to get through to the right department for the last hour. The virtual assistant gave me a number and it was the wrong one.

Nobody here (we're not Sky) can tell you. Possibly the wrong selection criteria identifying who to email. If you're logging in via sky.com you should be ok.

Phoning would be pretty much a waste of time so just use this link now and your email account will be safe:

Re: Email saying account inactive and scheduled for deletion when account is used daily.

I use that link to log in every day, sometimes several times. But I still have my email threatened with deletion. I don't believe you when you say if I log in on that link it will be OK. If that were so, why are they planning to delete my email account in the first place? I am currently logged in on that link.

You don't have to believe me but just to say that is the one I use about once a month or so and haven't been sent this email. Quite why you are others have been sent this email is a mystery but I do remember the same happening last year and as far as I can remember not one person then came back to say they had lost access to their email account when using that link.

e-mail from Sky Braodband Team - is it a scam?

I have received and e-mail from Sky  that says my Sky emai account is closing soon:

' We've seen you haven't used your Sky email account in a while (that is the one that ends in '@sky.com').

We are getting in touch to let you know that unless you start using your account again. it will be deleted on 4 August .......... all you need to do is log back in before 4 August, and it'll stay active ...'.  There are links to MyAccount and rights, aswell as the usual T&Cs + Privacy policy.

It is signed 'Your Sky Broadband Team',  which is odd, just says 'hello'  rather than sayng 'Hello <myname>',  and has been sent to my other e-mail account that isn't an @Sky.com account, but is used as a back-up e-mail option.   I have also logged into my sky e-mail account through a browser recently, and have it set-up in outlook which is used/synced on a daily basis.

I am assuming it is a scam e-mail but wanted to check in case I need to do something.

Re: Sky Yahoo email account being closed down

I am also having problems with this issue. I'm having a nightmare trying to speak to someone. That Sky Bot was useless.

I'm also in a panic because everything is linked to my sky email.
