I use Oulook to view my Sky email account, so does that explain why I have just received a second warning of closure ?

Yes, very likely

I have now logged into Yarhoo Mail directly so hopefully that should sort things out ?

You need to log in to Sky Yahoo Mail, not Yahoo, at least once a year for your email account to be recognised as active.

See Sky's help here. It includes the link you need to use to log in to Sky Yahoo Mail

@Dave.G6HNI

That could be why because to keep it active you need to use this link:

https://skyid.sky.com/signin/email/

Sky say to do this at least once per year but if you were to do this on the 1st of each month then you should not get anymore of these closure warning emails.

Ah good, thanks caesarome that is the site I have just logged into, but you would have thought they could detect the level of traffic, sent & received emails, on your account ?

I think they only detect logins via that link as they don't monitor emails via apps like Outlook and the like.

Re: Email saying account inactive and scheduled for deletion when account is used daily.

I last logged into my Yahoo mail in October, which is when I last commented in this thread... I've noticed this evening that I've not received any emails today, I've just tried to sign in to Sky Yahoo mail and get this message:

"Sorry

You can no longer create a new Yahoo Mail account via Sky."

Sending an email to my sky email address results in this response email:

"Address not found

Your message wasn't delivered to ******@sky.com because the address couldn't be found or is unable to receive email"

It looks like my account has been deleted 2 months after I last accessed, with no warning emails... Just suddenly gone. This is ridiculous! I'm going to have accounts that I won't be able to get into our change email without receiving confirmation to my Sky email.

Your message said we needed to sign in once a year. I've been deleted after a couple of months! I'm so angry and upset right now!

@uF0n

Don't be too sure your account has been deleted, it sounds like you may have the same problem as the 2 posters in this thread:

I hope it's not gone and can be reactivated... I will phone them in the morning.

Thanks for sharing the other post.
