Nice if they could come on here and give a statement to that effect.

It's what Sky say in their email and in their help guide: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/inactive-yahoo-mail-accounts

Re: Sky email account

Ah I see, thanks.

ive done all that and then they sent me another email same as the first.  This automated  nonsense only works if the systems stay on script.  Clearly in this case they have not and human intervention from a sky employee is required

Hi Everyone

Thank you for your posts regarding the recent notifications around inactive email accounts ending in @sky.com. We're sorry about any inconvenience this may have caused.

We are currently investigating why some notifications may have been sent incorrectly; and will come back with a further update on this.

You can find out which mailbox the message is for by following these steps:
  1.   Sign into the website. If you do not know which @sky.com email address we are referring to, sign into Sky.com using the email address the notification was sent to.
  2. Click your name on the top right, the menu will appear.
  3. Your Sky iD will be displayed, which is the first part of the sky email address.
  4. If you'd like to keep this email account, click on Yahoo Mail from the menu.
  5. You will be redirected to the mail account and don't need to take any further action
You can find more information about the process here:

I'm going to mark this post as the current answer, so that everyone has the most up-to-date information.

You say

  1. If you'd like to keep this email account, click on Yahoo Mail from the menu.
  2. You will be redirected to the mail account and don't need to take any further action

The problem is I received the email saying the account will be deleted after doing this, how can we check if the account is still active and not scheduled for deletion.

Re: Email saying account inactive and scheduled for deletion when account is used daily.

I'm aware that 'the reasons incorrect notifications have been sent in error and are being investigated', my question is 'Is there any way we can check to make sure the account isn't marked for deletion' and also will a confirmation that the account is not being deleted be sent once this has been investigated or will people be reliant on checking here. 🤔

@KevNewMedia Is there still no further update on this?

The reason i am asking is that 4th august is rapidly approaching and still we are left not knowing.....

a) Were these emails sent in error? You mentioned in your reply that they "may have  been" but we still dont know if it was an error or not And if so then is there nothing to worry about and our accounts wont be deleted?

b) If they were not sent in error, why are our accounts being marked by sky as inactive? We have been signing in via the link that is being shown time and time again but something was obviously not being recognised by sky that we were doing this and marking the accounts as inactive.

c) What mechanism is in place that wasnt there last month that sky are suddenly seeing our accounts as not being inactive anymore when we were using them daily and signing in on the link that we keep being told to sign in on? And can we not get verification of this i.e a confirmation email after we have signed in,instead of just blind faith that the accounts are now not marked as inactive anymore?

d) Finally can you guarantee that our accounts are safe and wont be deleted?

Thanks

Re: Email saying account inactive and scheduled for deletion when account is used daily.

I would also like answers to those questions, so I can be absolutely sure my account isn't being deleted on August 4th.

Re: Email saying account inactive and scheduled for deletion when account is used daily.

It's really not good enough.  As a carer and hearing impaired person I rely on my @Sky.com e-mail.  It is in constant use.  It is connected to my Outlook but I periodically login via the web browser from my PC.  I also use the web browser on my mobile to access email/sky account when I'm away from home.

I contacted Accessibility Team and asked them to check but we just went round in circles.

Along with everything else I have to do... I now have to worry that my @Sky.com email will be deleted!
