Cant access email on Windows laptop
I have been using a mac for years with no problems accessing email. I have just got a windows laptop and using the built in mail app attempted to set up my email accounts. Gmail account worked fine but my 2 sky email addresses are proving impossible to do. I get a message "We couldnt access this account. You might need to update your password or give the account permission to sync this device". I can get my email successfully on the yahoo web page and on my Mac and on my phone.
I also tried using Spark but that doesnt work either.
Any help gratefully received as i dont really want to give up and just use the web page. Many thanks

Re: Cant access email on Windows laptop
For this issue see if it works after generating a password here and using this nstead of you usual password when setting these accounts up. Each address will need its own generated password:

Re: Cant access email on Windows laptop
Yes I can access emails from both accounts on the yahoo webpage, for now I have made a shortcut to it on my desktop. I have also tried with Spark and nothing comes through on that either

Re: Cant access email on Windows laptop
I had already tried both.
I just downloaded Blue Email and tried but I get the error " Setup cannot finish. Cannot connect to server".
I also just tried turning off temporarily my antivirus and firewall but didnt make any difference. My gmail still works fine.

Re: Cant access email on Windows laptop
What makes it even more odd is that every time i try to log in I get an automated email saying that someone is trying to log in to my account- is it you?

Re: Cant access email on Windows laptop
Perhaps try a mail program like Thunderbird instead.

Are you using your isusl

Re: Cant access email on Windows laptop
Im really not sure what that is. However I just went into Windows mail and a message came up for the first time "SSL error. Would you like to ignore it?" I clicked yes and my emails finally started coming through. So looks like its sorted but I have no idea what all thats about. Many thanks for your help
