If you are sending it as an attachment, it will depend on the document itself, so what kind of document is it?

How was the document created, as that is where the formatting is set.
What app created the document? You can't change the format when sending, or are you trying to add the contents of the document into the body of the email?
Please explain just what you are trying to achieve, and have you successfully done it before?

Re: Can't change rich text to plain text as no Icon
Hi
It doesn't matter what doc I try to send it doesn't attach as I would want.
Say for instance I took a photo of a sheet of A4 paper. When I attach it, it shows the full sheet in the email. What I want it to do is go as an attachment so the receiver has to open it to see what it is. Otherwise I can only send a few sheets at a time as the email would be too big if I tried to send say more than 5 sheets fully showing in the email.
Thanks for any help

I suspect what you are seeing is just the way the Yahoo app displays it, the recipient will see it however their app/client displays it.
If you have more than one email address try sending an email to yourself, or send one to a friend and ask how they see it.

If you take a picture of a document, it is a pcture and not a document, so will be treated as such. If you want to send it as a document you will need to scan it and convert it to, for instance, a PDF.
Do you use email only on your phone?
