Account hacked, inbox empty all new emails are going to trash?

My account has been hacked or inbox messages deleted. I am able to get in trash and spam, all new emails going straight to trash box,

Anyone else experienced this and know how to retrieve lost messages if at all possible.

Thank you

Sadly it is a common issue that emails that are stored in the inbox go missing as really emails shouldn't be stored there for this very reason. This is a long shot as you could try this:

If they are restored then it would be advisable not to store all your emails in your inbox, but instead set up seperate folders to keep them in.

As for the emails going to trash, make sure that nothing has been set up via a filter so go to Settings > More Settings > Filters and remove anything that has been then change your password here:

@Someone+else see,the link in @caesarome's post which might enable you to get some emails back.

Your files can't be deleted via your email account, unless they're email attachments.

Ah, OK. So these are email folders. Yes, unfortunately as they're within your mailbox they can be deleted if you're hacked.

@LOCKWOOD32 beware of emails purporting to be from Sky urging you to upgrade, update or verify your account. They'll lead to a fake login page, which is how I suspect you gave away your credentials to a scammer.

Go to Settings > More Settings > Filters and look for anything you haven't set up . Almost certainly that's where you'll find an automated divert sending new emails direct to your Deleted folder.

You'll need to do this by logging in via your browser here, on a desktop or laptop pc, or using a mobile device in desktop mode.

Also, whilst in settings, make sure they haven't changed your name or setup a different reply to address.jayach_0-1698886960256.png
