Accessing Sky Yahoo on Outlook following Laptop reset

I had to reset my Laptop this week and since doing so, I cannot add/access my Sky Yahoo Email on the Yahoo App either by trying to access through the Yahoo link or adding the App password through the IMAP settings.  I had no issue before resetting the laptop.  Error details as follows:

{"SessionId":"de798f66-02e2-2545-916d-1da23aa831b9","Timestamp":1776792581654,"Error":"INVALIDCREDENTIALS TEMPORARILYUNAVAILABLE"}

Can anyone help please?

Hi,

It's Outlook for Windows 11 Microsoft 365

That will need a generated password. https://www.sky.com/sky-yahoo-mail/manage-apps

Copy and paste using the option on the generator page.

Make sure your settings are correct:

imap.tools.sky.com SSL 993

smtp.tools.sky.com SSL 465

Hmm, are you using any 3rd party security apps that could be interfering with the connection?

Only pre-installed McAfee.  Wasn't an issue when I first got the laptop (i.e. pre-reset) though.  I've even clean re-installed Outlook

I would definitely suspect McAfee, could you uninstall it to confirm?

Edit I meant uninstall not install, bloody autocorrect.

Do you possibly have SPA on?

IMAP settings.jpg

As you can see I use the Yahoo servers, so you could try that, but I don't think it will make any difference. (picture may take a while to be moderated)

Yes, I tried Yahoo as well as per your picture.  No difference.

Not sure about the SPA thing, I can't get into Outlook at all to look at the settings, requires me to add an account before I get any further into it!

I'm not sure just what is going on, you should be able to see the settings during setup even if the details are wrong.

I'm beginning to suspect you may be using New Outlook, and not Classic. Microsoft have a habit of trying to force it on everyone, even if they don't want it Refer back to the link in my first post to check.

The first thing you should see on starting Outlook is this:

Is that what you see?

My reply to this doesn't look like it came through!

I see similar (can't post a screenshot it seems) but you are right, the sign in-box says "Welcome to the new Outlook" so it may be a different version than that I mentioned

So, you have a choice. New Outlook or Classic?

Try googling to see the differences and let us know what you prefer.

In order to find Classic on Windows 11, type Outlook into the search bar, and both should come up. It will also give you an option to pin  Classic to the taskbar.
